Lions cruise past Cougars in a district showdown. Cordia improves to 12-7 (9-5 region) (4-3 district). Letcher County Central falls to 13-7 (7-3 region) (4-2 district). Cordia lead for just about the entire game. These two will meet once again one week from this Friday in Whitesburg.

Good game from the Lions. Looks like I will be making some changes to my region rankings on Sunday.

Cordia is a diiferent team than they were for the first half of the season, because they have added the two players. And if they add the big kid, as many are saying will happen in a few days, then their ranking will change even more. However, I'm still trying to figure out how they allowed Powell to take them into overtime before they finally won. They should have handled Powell with ease. Maybe they were down from their narrow loss against Knott in the All A the night before.

They had a very emotional, hard fought loss the night before. It's hard to come back the next day after laying it all out like that the night before. Not to mention it was on the road, etc.
