NKYBOY1487 Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 St. Henry led by 18 at the half thanks to some great shooting by Brandon Lenhof and Adam Faust. Ben Kolkmeier did a great job guarding Dan Penick and held him to 13 points I believe. Ludlow did cut the game to 4 in 4th quarter but St. Henry never gave up the lead the whole game. Good Win Crusaders!!!! Keep working hard and give all you got against NCC. BigZig might be able to help with more stats.
BIGZIG Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Penick 13 points and 15 rebounds Hardin 10 points and 7 rebounds King 13 points Ugly 1st half for the Panthers and as NKBOY indicated St Henry shot the ball very well from the outside to lead by 18 at the half. Panthers played much better in the 3rd and most of the 4th qtr cutting lead to 4 points with about 2 and 1/2 minutes to go. St Henry then reeled off I believe the next 11 points to close out the game and the Panthers. Congrats to St Henry and coach Faust.

Question, and please understand I am asking only as a fan and mean no harm in asking this...... But do you think if Ludlow was playing a better schedule of teams during the regular season they wouldn'y have come out (from what it seems you both said) flat in the 1st half. CovCath, HHS, Holmes HC, etc. always seem to want to play a tough schedule, so when they play that tough match, they are mentaly and physicaly ready, or at least they are familiar with being in one.
NKYBOY1487 Posted January 24, 2006 Author Posted January 24, 2006 Big Zig, Do you know how many Lenhof had? Had to be more than 20.
BIGZIG Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Understand what you are saying but year in and year out they play a schedule that best suits that of a small public school. Ludlow although they have good players seldom has enough depth to matchup weekly with the bigger schools, Ludlow trys to be realistic in their scheduling and their expectations. Not at all saying that we don't fully expect to win and one day have that ultimate season where everything falls into place but playing a big time schedule would probably wear down the smaller public schools and possibly cause the kids to become discouraged. As a side note..Last year Ludlow did play CovCath(twice) Holmes, Holy Cross (twice), Mason Cty and Shelby Cty just to name a few so we don't always shy away from the bigger schools.Sort of need to know your talent when scheduling at a small school.
BIGZIG Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Big Zig, Do you know how many Lenhof had? Had to be more than 20. Don't hold me to this but I believe he had 20. Left everything back at school but if memory serves me correctly he made 4 3's 12points 2 2's 4 points and 4 free throws. Total of 20.. I think..
FIREPLUG Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 I feel that Grant Logan should see increased playing time. He is a wee little man but has tons of heart and can jump. He has great scrappy D and can hit a clutch shot like no other.
BIGZIG Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 BZ - Has Ludlow underachieved this year? Hard to say..
cshs81 Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Hard to say.. Agreed. Often times, folks who don't know a team place too high of expectations on them and , thus, they tend to be viewed as 'underachievers'.
bigstick23 Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 they have agruably two of the top 15 players in nky, how can't they be underachieving.
cshs81 Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 they have agruably two of the top 15 players in nky, how can't they be underachieving. They do NOT have 2 of the top 15 players in NKY.
BigStud Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 They do NOT have 2 of the top 15 players in NKY. Pre-season most publications listed it that way. I think that is his point.
