2006 AA sleeper team??

Featured Replies

I think that Sheldon Clark will be great this year... but that just my opinion.

Morgan on offense should be better next year than last. 8 starters return on offense this coming year including 1200 yard rusher Derrick Young. Defense will be the deciding factor just how good the cougars will be.

Knott Co. Central

Newport needs to develop their young line and find a couple recievers for Hesch to throw to and they will be right there again. Look for Kyle Southwood who played center last year to be a big factor in the Wildcats year. He needs to get the new guys on the O-line in gear for the Cats to make a run.

2 Hand, I think Morgan loses a couple more starters on offense. On the O-Line the right tackle and left tackle were seniors, both receivers, the quarterback and one wing. That is 6. However, many kids subbed in and out last year, and many others played substantial minutes due to injuries so I think the offense will be pretty good. The other returning starters are pretty good players, quite a bit of speed.

I definately think Mercer will be in the mix of things again this year. They just have to have some guys step up on the O-line, from TE to TE across the line, they lost 6 out of the 7, I believe, which equals out to be around 1,600 lbs!! :scared:

Morgan, Sheldon Clark, Russell, Mercer & Middlesboro

Russell was State-Champ last year. How in the world can they be labeled a sleeper? Most people consider the defeding champs to be the favorites.

I think that Corbin will be as good as any team on the grid iron this year. It will be very difficult to defend all the skill players that the redhounds will have in their lineup. Let's not forget their big, strong line, and their all star quarterback Clint Cashen. He should be able to show all of his skills this year. Stop the air game! And then we'll watch'em run :walk:

I look for Knott Central to win their district this year behind the play of RB Bobby Owens. He led the state in rushing yards for most of the year last season and missed 2 games. I think he still finished 2nd in the state and just played 8 games. That is incredible. Watch out for the PATS this year, not a team to take lightly!!

I would say Sheldon Clark but this last years team kinda ruined the surprise for this upcoming season.

Sheldon Clark is the up and coming team in the mountains this year.

Fort Campbell will make a solid run in the playoffs, they lost some good players but do have some very quality kids coming back. Maybe not state championship contenders next year, but could potentially upset some good teams and cause a stink.

No pun intended, but if they couldn't make a solid run in the playoffs with the slew of D1's they had last year, it's hard to see them do much this season. They do comeback with playoff experience, but it's really hard to see them doing much.
