:clap: There is a scene in the movie Hildago where the horses race across the desert. I was reminded of that movie tonight as the Lady 'Stangs of Bishop Brossart raced across the floor at Campbell County Middle School in a solid dismantling of the Lady Camels of Campbell County. The final score was Bishop Brossart 55, Campbell County 40. The win clinches the Number 1 seed for the 37th District Tournament in February which should pretty much give them a bye and then the winner of Silver Grove and Calvary while Scott will now battle for the 2 and 3 seeds to play each other. Brossart is finished with District seed games at 4-0.

Several of the Bluegrass Preps fans wanted to know this week who could stop Campbell County star Taylor Robinson. The answer was the Bishop Brossart defense which may be the best in the 10th Region. Coach Feldmann's attack defense held Robinson to just 3 field goals and seven points. The better question might have been who would stop the Lady 'Stang offense that saw four players score seven or more points and another duo with 5 and 4.

“It was a great overall effort as a team both offensively and defensively. We forced them into 20 turnovers and made 15 of 18 from the line. I'm very proud of them as always,” exclaimed Feldmann after the game.

Brossart jumped to an early 12-7 lead and then saw Campbell tie it and take a brief lead at 15-14. The game was actually only tied once and the lead exchanged hands just twice. Brossart began to pull away in the second quarter and built a 25-16 advantage by intermission. Their largest lead over the Lady camels was 46-28 midway thru the fourth quarter.

Brossart got their usual inside outside balance but tonight was a bit more inside oriented with Junior Sarah Futscher scoring 11 points and having 7 rebounds. Senior Maria Greis had one of her best games of the year with 10 points and 3 of 4 from three point range. Brossart tossed in 8 three bombs to just two for the Lady Camels.

Junior Abby Stadmiller provided the long range firepower tossing in a game high 18 points including 7 of 8 from the charity stripe. Senior Rachel Hartig had 7 points, junior Madison Eisenman 5 and junior Cori Ziegler 4. Molly Kitchen led all Lady Camel scorers with 11 points.

Brossart dominated most categories except rebounding where Campbell held a slight edge. The led in free throw points (15 to 6), Pts off Turnovers (16 to 8), 3 point points (24-6), second chance points (7 to 3) Steals (11-2) and Assists (12 to 6).

The Lady 'Stangs improve to 12-3 and win the Crosstown Shootout before a large crowd for the second straight year. Brossart won 54-43 last season. Campbell County falls to 5-10. Campbell's January 18 game with Scott will determine the 2 and 3 seed.

The junior varsity game tonight was all BBHS as well as the Lady 'Stangs won easily 38-28 led by 13 points from freshman Emily Schultz and 11 from freshman Abby King. 8th Grader Maddie Flaugher scored 9 as the freshmen fell to the Lady Camels.

Sarah has a chipped tooth and Madison Eisenman lost a tooth as well. Ironically enough a dentist was on site.

I know Taylor isnt 100% but usually this time of year every team has there bumps and bruises. I know theres a few on Brossart's team who wasnt 100% with knee issues and another with ankle issues but I dont think that will matter next time. Brossart is solid and has 3 or 4 off the bench that comes in and they dont miss a beat. I think Camp Co has a nice team but that not close to the same level with talent as Brossart. And if you seen the game last night Brossart didnt put much pressure on them with there press and if they do that it could be even worse next time.

I told u that BBHS would win by 15. Correct. If Campbell gets healthy, the next game will be opposite. Taylor Robinson got in foul trouble on questionable calls. She played her heart out. Yes Brossart had players injured during the game some serious but woman to woman Campbell stuck with Brossart. I would like to see your prediction NKY the next time they play?

Well as long as they meet again, cause Campbell will have to get past a pretty good Scott team but if they do and they meet again I will post my predictions.

You really like to exaggerate things! The three freshman would start for any other 10th region team??? C'mon. I am VERY familiar with ALL the freshman at Brossart. I'm not sure any of them would even start at camp co, let alone the rest of the schools. They are very nice freshman and I love all of them, but they still need some work before becoming starters. Your really full of your team and love to exaggerate. Camp co has a freshman class that has had very much success against your freshman over the years. One frosh plays some varsity for CC but doesn't start. Another one is out for the season with a knee injury and their frosh team still has some nice talent on it. If those Frosh are so good, why aren't they playing more significant minutes or starting for Brossart, a team that has been beaten by NCC who starts a freshman and other underclassmen and HHS who starts two freshman?? And those same freshman beat a HHS JV team on a last second shot. HHS, JV team is made up of 4 sophomores (2 of which don't play much JV because they see a lot of varsity minutes), 1 freshman (which is in the same boat as the sophomores) and the rest that play a significant part of the game are 8th, 7th and yes one 6th grader. All play significant JV minutes. You would think is those brossart kids were soooo good, a team of youngsters wouldn't be within 20 points of them. Yet it took a buzzer beater to win. Brossart is a good team, but c'mon. Don't get carried away. You beat cc by 15. A team that was blown away in just about every game of their recent tournament.

Let's see so far Brossart is 12-3 which is the best record in the 10th and would be top 3 in 9th Region. We beat the team, Owen Co., with the best record in the 8th. We beat Number 5 ranked Manual, beat Ryle, beat Mason County. Finished 4-0 in Distirct beating Campbell Co. by 15, Scott by 25, Calvary by 41 and Silver Grove by 66. Brossart is undefeated (6-0) in Region, undefeated (4-0) in District and earned top seed. They finished 3-1 in a tough Christmas Tourney losing only to the number 2 ranked team in the state Anderson County. They have scored 866 points while allowing just 623 while playing probably the best schedule of any tenth region team. Coach Feldmann is now 56-21. As Joe Friday used to say on Dragnet "Just the facts, just the facts."
