Covington Holy Cross 65 Ryle 54

Final from the Finn.

Holy Cross was up 20 multiple times not as close as final.

I left at end of third with HC up 21.

This was never close and HC looked really good.

First time seeing Ryle and I gotta admit they don't handle pressure very well. When they did break HC press, they didn't take it to the rim strong because of Campbell. They'd either take a bad 3 or try a floater.

Walter, it was great to finally catch up with you. Thanks for stopping in at halftime that was a lot of fun.

As far as the game, HC subbed the last 3 minutes up 20+ while Ryle did not and Ryle made the final outcome closer than it appeared against JV guys for HC.

Agree 100% with Clyde though, HC will need to handle the pressure of Holmes Friday night. If they can handle it though, they have a great chance to come out with a Win. Campbell is plaping some great basketball at both ends of the floor and Christian McClendon played really good tonight.

HC was up 49-25 at one point and then it was 56-46 with 3:30 left.

First time seeing HC this season. They are better than I expected. PG play is my concern for them.

Tony C is so good. He is what a big man should be in the post offensively.

Ryle kept taking it to the rim and that simply didn't work. It either got swatted or they had to shoot it so high it had no chance of going in.

Ryle's Drew Mayes is really, really good. Might be the best interior passer I've seen this year. I hoped he would have pulled up from about 10 vs going at Tony but the kid can get to the lane and then find open players.

How has Tony shot the ball from 3 this year? I ask because I noticed his shooting form has gotten a lot better but in watching him the ball doesn't seem to go in as often as it did last season.

Thanks for having me. Really appreciate it.

Looking forward to talking hoops with you Friday as well.

Clyde, while he has had games of shooting 3-5 of them Campbell hasn't shot the 3 nearly as much as he did last year. They have been utilizing him more and more down on the blocks and why not right? - lol....He is so skilled for a kid that size IMO. He had 7 blocks tonight but probably altered another 6-8 at least. When HC can limit their turnovers and knock down a couple open 3s they are a pretty good team. I realize that is a big IF...Tony had 2 monster dunks tonight as well. It will be interesting to see what happened Friday night.

Campbell looked really good tonight when HC posted him up. He showed a nice touch around the rim and wow can he pass. He had a couple full court passes off rebounds where he hit a teammate in stride that led to easy lay ups.

By the way, if a 9th region coach fight breaks out I'm all in with Alan Mullins. Dude is stacked and packed.
