Looks like a great game from the freshman Ison!

She needs to be starting and playing more. With her in the line-up, Walton has an inside/outside threat. She has a lot of potential and will carry the torch after Sandln is gone.

I think an argument could be made for her to start, but she seems to be the kind of kid who has things in perspective. Her and mills coming off of the bench provide depth, ball handling, and outside shooting for sure, but I don't think ison minds being in a supporting role to the seniors who start.

She is a model for the theory that hard work and dedication pays off. Looking from afar, I watched her develop through AAU. She went from a kid that was a role player on a very good team to a player that same team could not live without! She is a great kid and deserves everything she gets! It's so fun to watch the kids develop.

She is a nice player that is developing very well.

The younger girls played very well last night with Ison and Mills giving quality minutes.

Mills showed that she can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim instead of just standing and shooting.

The Walton pipeline in full of potential all the way down to the 4th grade level with girls in every grade that are above average. This starts with a good feeder program and that thanks goes to Dan Sullivan.

I was looking forward to seeing a battle of the bigs (Judy-Hearn) but that didn't happen. Hearn spent most of her time wandering around the perimeter and is not a force inside.

She has to bring it every night for all four quarter for Grant County to be successful.

Last night the best bigs on the floor were Judy and Sandlin.

There wasnt much of anything to watch as far as a match up between them. If I am not mistaken, Hearn was mostly guarding Sandlin and Grant tried to double team Judy using other players. I guess, like many opponents, Grant struggled trying to match up and stop both of them (Sandlin and Judy). Hearn couldnt guard both as she had her hands full with Sandlin, and the double team on Judy wasn't really working. Judy still scored, or was fouled, or both.

WV scoring 27 in the third with mostly half court offense is impressive and very efficient. Grant Countycomes out in a zone in the 3rd and Walton shredded it. It was nice to see the inside, outside balance and the Bearcats finding the open spots on the floor for nice shots.

WV has many weapons, and sometimes those weapons fire on all cylinders, it can be fun to watch. Seems like WV playing well with the Holiday tournaments and the All A just around the corner. Can WV fourpeat?

Walton can and should fourpeat in the All A. However, it will take a team effort and they can not rely solely on Sandlin. Judy, Mullikin, Ison and the others are going to have to turn it up a notch. However, before the All A, they are playing in the loaded Montgomery County tournament. I think this tournament will be a good gauge to tell us where they really are as a team.

They definitely have the most talent and are well coached. That being said, Sandlin is the difference maker. Clinkenbeard being out will hurt them.

Yes it will. The tournament in Montgomery County will be very tough without her. It's going to be tough anyway, but much worse without all that Clinkenbeard brings to the game and one less body in the Bearcat's rotation. Wishing Molly a quick and full recovery!
