Final from Hebron. Led by Senior Jordan Scott and her 4th straight double double along with strong performances by Maddie Meyers and freshman Hunter Hendricks the Lady Cougars rolled to a very impressive victory tonight over the Scott Eagles. The Lady Cougars ran the floor well at both ends of the court tonight to move their record to 4 and 0. Next up for Conner are the Beechwood Tigers on friday evening in Ft Mitchell. Go Cougars!

Coach Stamm also got an excellent effort out of Senior guard Emily Pluto who chipped in with 12 points. The Lady Cougars raised their record to 4 and 0 and have tough matchups coming this friday (Beechwood away) and saturday (Campbell Cty @ home). Good luck Cougars!

This was a mismatch from the very beginning. Scott is VERY young as they had two seventh graders in their starting lineup. Scott had a shooting guard (Jill Buntin) playing the post due to lack of size.

 

With that being said, Conner has a very nice rotation and will win a lot of games. They put a lot of pressure on teams and have a lot of different weapons including one of the 9th region best in Jordan Scott.

 

Should be a fun year for Conner fans!

Is Beechwood good this year? I don't remember them having a strong team in quite a while.

I think they would have been pretty decent, but I think they had a couple players not return. One of them was the Pawset girl, who was their best player. Think she is focusing on Soccer. The other was an upper classman too (I think). Not sure why for the others.

I have heard much the same as you have RCC9. I think initially they were even getting votes for the NKY Top 10 until a few of the girls decided not to play. Not too sure how good they are without these girls.

From what I know...they have some nice young talent coming up, but I don't think it's enough to hold down Conner. I've seen them (in warm-ups) and they looked very small. I think it could be a long year for them. But, at least they have a light at the end of the tunnel with the young girls. I think they will start an 8th grader and Freshman at guards. I may be wrong. Both are very talented, but i'm not sure how much help they have..

As long as Jordan is playing like this, then Conner has a chance to possibly have a special season.

They took two big losses when Emily Pawsatt and Jesse Schilling decided not to play. They don't have much depth. They also do not have Kara Schwartz due to a season ending injury. Probably their best three players from last season.

 

I was at the Beechwood vs NCC game and they played very well. Very impressed with the 8th grade point guard Allison Johnson. She played very well for being so young.

 

The other player that was really impressive was Macy Steumpel who is only a 9th grader. Nice player.

 

But overall they lack depth and size. They play very hard but don't have enough to beat the top teams in Northern Kentucky.
