Matt Reinhart Out As Head Coach At Brossart

Featured Replies

In a letter penned by Brossart Principal Dick Stewart to the Mustangs' Football Parents released earlier today, Mr. Stewart confirmed the widespread rumor that circulated throughout the community this weekend that Coach Matt Reinhart would not return as the head coach of the Brossart Football Mustangs for the 2013 season.

In speaking to Coach Reinhart, he wished to thank everyone associated with making his tenure at Brossart a pleasant one, and wished nothing but the best for the Mustangs' football program in the future.

Coach Reinhart posted a 15-37 record in five years as our head coach and took the Mustangs to the 1-A playoffs in 2008 and 2009 prior to being moved up to Class 2-A in 2011, where the Mustangs are still seeking our first distict victory.

My personal interactions with Coach Reinhart have always been pleasant ones, both on and off of the field. He has always been more than acccomodating to our broadcast team efforts and to the BMustangs website. I echo Mr. Stewart's sentiments that we thank Coach Reinhart for his five years of efforts on our behalf, and do wish him the best of everything in his future endeavors.

Be it ever so humble, Matt was passionate about the Mustangs football program, and had a great admiration and affection for the players who have toiled for him, regardless of the obstacles that faced them, for the past five years.

We wish his successor success in generating renewed interest in the program, and bolstering our numbers needed to compete at our assigned level. Steps have been taken to create a more favorable practice condition at the Gilbert Ridge property, and the non-district schedule for 2013 has been revamped to allow our team to compete on a more level playing field.

Honestly, I do not. In the letter sent out by Mr. Stewart to the Football parents (which can be read on the BMustangs website) he states that they hope to have a replacement in place by the end of January.

The school will begin accepting applications immediately for the Head Football Coaching Position. A committee will be formed and will screen applications and make a recommendation to the Principal hopefully sometime in January. All applications should be sent to Athletic Director Mel Webster at Bishop Brossart.

ThIs could be very attractive job. A decent size senior class. A middle school team to develop young players. Definitely an upgrade from when Reinhart took over (0 wins).

Is there any chance a job in the building will be available? I think that is one hurdle that may limit the coaching talent pool.
