The Defender Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Interesting score Cumberland has a 6-9 record.
51513 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Does anyone have any information on this game? I didn't get to make the trip last night.
SKINPIG Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Does anyone have any information on this game? I didn't get to make the trip last night. I didn't get to make the trip but listened to some of it on the radio. The radio was having technical difficulties throughout the game. Score at half was Clay 33 Cumb 19. Seems like Clay was up 18 at one point in the second half and up 13 or 15 in the fourth quarter. Reception came back late in the game and Clay was only up 3?? From the bits a pieces I heard, Will Jones must have had a big night. I don't know why Clay lost the big lead, not enough air time to tell. Cumberland must have got hot with the three's or Clay turned it over a bunch, just don't know.
SKINPIG Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Interesting score Cumberland has a 6-9 record. Interesting or not, Clay is 12-3 and wading through their schedule. And according to you, their doing it with below avg guards. If Clay's guards are below avg then those other 12 teams must be well below avg.
WILDMAN Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Cumberland is the type of team who can play with anyone but just has trouble getting over the hump and finishing. I've yet to see them play and won't get to until the 3rd when Corbin travels over there. I do try to keep up with them as much as possible. From what I understand they have one of if not the best post player in the region with NC transfer Desmond Johnson. Johnson also is surrounded by some very good guards as well. I think by tournament time, Coach E will have them clicking on all cylinders. This group is similar to the team who got hot, finally started playing and won the region in 2003. I'm not predicting the Skins to win region but they have that kind of team again this year that will sneak up on ya. People fail to realize that in 2003, those bunch were unstoppable when in Middle School.

I also said Clay had the best inside game in the region.
SKINPIG Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I said average guards not below average SKINPIG. I also said Clay had the best inside game in the region. Here's an actual quote from one of your posts: "It still does not matter if you do not have good guard play in the 13th you might as well stay @ home come T-TIME." Now, I would take (not good) as below average. for some reason  you struggle to give Clay any credit, even though they are 12-3 with (not good guard play), isn't that better than you thought they would be? You had them way down in your pre-season poll, where do you have them now?
Big Red Machine Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Clay has won a lot of close games this season. Good year so far for the Tigers

Sorta like I took "more talented" to mean "better" in the Miller vs. Proffitt debate. :thumb: I think my connection works better then yours, because if talent ranges from great, good, average, poor, terrible...... then average would = not good and visa versa...... so those 2 statements (not good & average) could be analogous and therefore consistent! Now if The Defender had said poor guard play or terrible guard play..... then you would be right because those statements = "below average". But "not good" according to this talent scale can mean average, poor, or terrible depending on what The Defender thinks. Does the pig talk out of both sides of his mouth!!! JK Dont get mad..... just jabbin around I just find it funny that you had a discrepancy with me about a situation very similar to this one concerning word usage and clarity, and yet here you are assuming things about what The Defender said!
RonnieThePopular Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Hey, dont you know that only good talk is allowed on this forum about Clay Co or else skinpig will skin you! Man, skin, stop being so defensive about it all. Clay is a good team and we know how you stand, now, let others tell how they feel too.

Your connection IYO works better than any, that's something nobody will be able to change. Pigs barely can type, much less use words like anal_ogous, and how much clarity comes from OINK! Yes I can OINK! from both sides of my snout. Even a pig knows where The Defender is coming from with his remarks.

And they could change my opinion if they could argue their point equally as well as I can mine!
