Montrell Jones at Male, 4 full years starting on the varsity team, making it to the state final game in 2 of those years and playing (I am 99% sure) a full 10 game regular season each year.

So to compare: Quick = 45 varsity games, Jones = approx. 56 games (depending on any games he may have been injured for, and guessing Male got bounced in round 3 in years when they didn't make the finals.) This does not even take into account that Male was not facing Brentwood, Cathedral, Cincy X, Moeller, MBA, and Elder. I'm no expert, but I think it is relatively difficult to put up numbers against those defenses.

 

A pretty big accomplishment for Mr. Quick.

 

Yes it is. Didn't realize Jones started 4 full years at Male. That is pretty impressive in itself. Don't get that too often at big schools.

I agree that Timmons is a great player. But the one player I was most impressed with at Franklin County, now bear with me I have only seen them the 1 game against Cooper, but Maupin I thought had by far the best hands on that receiving corps. even over Timmons. Timmons strentgh comes from his speed and quickness and the ability to change directions on a dime. Maupin however really impressed me with his hands. I think that kid could catch just about anything thrown to him.

Yea, he is an incredible player. Whatever college he goes to is getting the real deal. There were 2 passes that stood out to me with him against us last week. The first was the first one he caught, he was in traffic and the ball was fired in there, I mean the hardest I've seen any QB thrown this year and it was on a quick 5 yard slant and it was like his hands were magnets, it stuck rightin his hands and he didn't miss a stride. Was very impressive.

 

The second was one of the int's FC threw. It was to him but he was triple covered and should of been an easy int, but let me tell you, he just about came up with that one too. Even though he didn't make the catch and it was picked off, I was amazed how close he actually came to grabbing that one going over the backs of 3 defenders, very very impressive.

 

Like I said Timmons is a stud and everything anyone has claimed he was, but Maupin, wow....I'd take him in aheartbeat if I was building a team.
