Warren Central 21 Graves County 14

Featured Replies

Glad WC got the win, though it was far closer than I thought it'd be or hoped it would be. Gotta say I misread that one, I didn't think Graves County would be able to get enough stops. Central's D did perform as well as I thought they would, holding Graves' potent offense to only 14 points. Graves County constantly forced Central to drive a long field and dominated the field position game. That led to Central getting a lot of yards, but seldom scores. Nearly 300 yards of offense in the first half led to Central getting all of 14 points. So in the second half when the yards stopped coming as much it meant Central was in trouble. Still had enough to get the W, that's all you really care about.

For you Dragon.

Where are those numbers from? The WC numbers are 80-100 yards below what both teams put up on Riherds. I know for a fact at a glance that Kenin Reed's numbers are wrong, because he had a single rush of about 45 yards alone. Ran from the 5 to midfield.

Even with the lower number, it still paints the picture of how from a statistical standpoint the Dragons dominated. They just didn't get the scores when they needed to. Graves played strong defense once the Dragons got deep, and they don't have the luxury of a kicker that they can trust to kick a field goal from any significant distance.

Where are those numbers from?

Weird. I don't know where the disconnect is, but they definitely missed some yardage for WC.

I think a few of us told you GC could hang with WC.

Like I said, I'll take being wrong about the margin - WC got the win and that matters most to me. The toughness of the win is secondary for me.

Graves hung with WC where it mattered most, on the scoreboard. Almost everything else about the game went how I expected. If the statement was 4/5 times Warren Central would win, I believe that was the "5th of 5" time. They didn't get it done.

BTW, thank you for posting them. I forgot to when I got caught up in the number difference.
