I've pulled kids over and I could smell the weed smoke on their clothes, put em through my tests and even had them say I smoked a few hours ago and I've cut them loose cause the drug was no longer psychoactive. Also, there's a huge difference in THC levels between common ditch weed and Afghani Bullrider. That has a huge difference in the length of the "high".

It takes money off the black market, away from foreign cartels, and puts it into our economy. Not seeing where the hit comes.

Thanks. My question to you, and what I hadn't quite gotten around to sending HB20 in response to his PM, is this:

 

If a person has shown no observable outward signs of being high, do you even go to that next step? I am familiar with a lot of what you and HB20 mentioned, but not all of it. Seems like the stuff you mention is what police would use to confirm the suspicion they might have gotten because of observing behavior.

 

Coordination is an observable behavior, but that person may just be clumsy by nature. Smell obviously is a dead giveaway, but that can be covered. Speech could just as easily be explained away by any number of things (allergies, exhaustion, medical condition, etc.). A person might already have high blood pressure, so I don't see how that can be relied on. Pulse rate seems like it would go up naturally with just about anyone being pulled over -- nervousness is a natural reaction to such a confrontation. Red eyes can be caused by lack of sleep, irritated contact lenses, etc., and can be made to go away with eye drops.

 

What you can't seem to comprehend is that there are other ways of determining it someone is high other than them "acting high". Being paranoid and nervous are definitely clues, but those aren't the only clues and from your posts that's how you made it seem. I believe you went as far as saying the only other way would have to be magic.

 

It's as simple as looking at someone's eyes and doing a test that takes about 5 seconds. No that isn't a 100 % guaranteed, but its a pretty good test. Also like rocket said, you can look at their tongue. Which brings me back to what I believe I originally said which is that it's not that difficult to determine whether someone has recently smoked weed or not. That little statement got blown so far out of proportion by you that it's crazy.

It's going to be taxed like crazy. It will put tons of money back into the economy.

J/k but it would definitely help the US economy to legalize it. If anyone has ever watched Borderwars and seen the huge amounts of money that is found, which is a small fraction, it'd be much better to keep those dollars in America than crossing the Mexican border.

As for police detecting someone being high...it ain't hard. If you have seen anyone while they're high it's not hard to detect. Add in the fact that police are trained to detect whether or not someone is intoxicated and many are trained well enough that they can pinpoint what kind of drugs a person is using.
