Romney, 53%-47% of the popular vote and 290 electorals. I expect a BGP sweatshirt if I'm closest.

There has never been a more polarizing person in the Oval Office than Barack Obama. I think Romney wins and wins by more than most think possible.

 

I would say LBJ is in the discussion. By the end of his presidency the US was split apart not just GOP/DEM but the Dems were split into LBJ/McCarthy/Wallace.

 

A lot of people talk about how polarized the nation is but can it really be that we've forgotten how bleak America looked in 1968?

 

*Riots in many major cities

*Assassinations of MLK and RFK

*Protests throughout the country

*Thousands dying each year for a war on the other side of the world

*Cold War threat from the Soviets and Eastern Europe

 

Anytime people wish it was like "it used to be" I have to remind people that "used to be" wasn't all that great.
