I had one experience with a pitbull and it wasn't very pleasant.

 

I have a Beshon that I took to get groomed at this lady's house. I went to pick up my dog around the back of her house, she had a fenced in back yard. I put the leash on my dog and started to leave, but before we got out of the back yard, my dog had to take a dump. In the meantime, the groomer had thought we were gone, so she lets her pitbull out with two german shepards. I heard a noise and saw a brown flash, the flash was that pitbull running at my dog. The pitbull had my dog grabbed by the back of her neck. I kicked that pitbull in the neck about fifty times and the pitbull would not let go.The leash that I had on my dog cut about halfway through my finger from the amount of force the pitbull was applying. Finally this lady's husband heard the comotion and came out to help me get that pitbull off my dog. The thing that saved my dog was her collar. Did I mention the two german shepards ? They were running around like they were crazy, but they were not attacking. Needless to say I no longer use that groomer. How stupid is it for a groomer to have a pitbull at her house knowing that other people are going to bring their dogs there throughout the day?

So of what use are Pitbulls? I'm pretty sure that any worthwhile trait they may have can be found in another breed minus the generations of breeding for agression and tenacity.

 

If you've ever been around one for any period of time -- one that is well-trained to restrain their more aggressive instincts -- you will notice that they take on a herder/protector role.

I have zero issue with this. The dogs paid the price for their stupid owner.

 

I have to agree. The dog isn't bad, it's the owners that don't properly take care of these dogs.
