Belfry 53 Prestonsburg 6

Featured Replies

Pirates take their frustrations out on Pburg in a big way.

Pirates outgain the Blackcats 469-190 and get a running clock going at the start of the 4th.

Justin Johnson 13 carries, 270 yards, 4 TD

Not a very pretty game to watch, but it was entertaining.

Belfry's secondary needs a lot of work, this type of team is good for us to play.

Mobile QB's who can scramble are always a killer for us, always.

Belfry just outmanned the Blackcats in this one and after a close first half, they just took over.

Prestonsburg was without playmaker Williams and Belfry was without LB Ghormley and OL Taylor, all great players

I thought coach Derossett was going to get tossed arguing a play call, good show

Belfry had too many penalties, particularly motion penalties. Gotta work on that.

Justin Johnson had a career night with 270 yds and 4 tds. Nice job young man.

There were lots of hard hitting, very physical game. The hit at the goal line that caused the Pburg fumble was brutal.

Speaking of fumbles, how many did Pburg have tonight?

I miss oneijoe on here.

4 I believe..they had 5 Turnovers and one was an INT.

Selfishly I wish Pburg could have managed an additional score or two. I don't remember the last time a Belfry back eclipsed the 300 yard mark and Johnson was well on his way. The Pirate starters were pulled about 50 seconds into the 4th.

Johnson off to a monster start.

Through 3 Games:

vs. Pburg 13 carries, 270 yards, 4 TD

vs. Henry Clay 16 carries, 163 yards, 2 TD

vs. Harrison County 2 carries, 56 yards, TD

That's 31 carries, 489 yards, 7 TD

15.8 yards per carry, a TD roughly every 4 carries

In honor of the big win I wore my Belfry Pirate t-shirt all day in Chicago. Represent!

A bum asked if "Bell-Fry" was near Chicago.

LOL, we are only about 5 miles from Canada.

I get a lot of comments on it. A guy at a bar in Ludlow from Belfry approached me and another old guy asked me if I remembered the 1976 game against Lloyd.

I figured and most did that this one would be ugly and in reading the post and observibg the score I can see it was just that.
