I suspect some teams think it gives them sime sort of advantage in that their oppoent might not realiaze who some of their top preformers are though I don't see how. Take Beechwood for example, they have not submitted and last year they would be real mum on injuries. That is my guess

Some coaches put too much into coaching tactics such as stupid actions like the one you describe. It a shame. Stats are the first level of marketing a player to colleges and a lot of Kentucky players can play DII ball who do not get the right exposure.
