George Rogers Clark 2012/2013

Basketball season for 2012/2013 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from George Rogers Clark ? Remember, please be constructive.

Humphrey's Rebuild Part II. What lies in store for Clark County fans this year. I will be the first to admit, that I didn't give the previous years Sweet 16 Team much of a chance in the beginning. And I was happily proven wrong by them winning the 10th Region Championship again.

This years team will have some returning players (Roberts, Isreal) that saw playing time, but a bulk of the playing time moved on to college teams.

The key to GRC having a successful year again will be focused around the one thing that the Cards had last year. Teamwork. Working together, unselfish ball, and defense. The 10th will have some tough teams this year and Clark Co can be one of them. But it will take all the elements I just mentioned.

I don't want to tip the hat to early, but GRC will not be without talent. But that story is yet to be completed......

A good show of where they are will be at the Woodford County tournament. With the likes of Scott County, Henry Clay, Dunbar, Woodford Co., etc. it could be a good measuring stick of where they are.

Great post thumb[1].gif I am excited about this years team, it is going to be like Christmas opening presents and not knowing what you will get. Last year I knew we had the talent to be a very good team, I didn't know that coach would get them to play so well as a team and so unselfishly. Those kids had been sitting on the bench waiting for their time to shine. Alot of times that means selfish play, but not with last years team. This years team will have to buy into that concept. As far as defense,Humphrey's teams always play great D. Another player we may see some great things from is Blanton. Built alot like Cory Rogers and he also plays football. Basketball season can't get here soon enough!!!!

Can we play with teams that has so much experience such as Scott Co, Henry Clay, Dunbar so early in the season and with little to no experience, will be a very tall order IMO. Come post season....we will see.

One of the biggest replacements will be who is sitting beside Coach on the bench. Robbie is now the girls coach. I feel that will be a very big hole to fill.

THe bench is often not given credit for their contributions. They can make a huge impact. They may not get the recognition, but they help get the wins.

Figuratively and literally.
