June 16, 201511 yr Spoke with a golf buddy last night. He got suckered into the free weekend in NY trip. After he signed up they advised him he had to do the 2 hour meeting. After 3.5 hours he walked out with a new Hilton time share for $28 grand + yearly fees. He was amazed that he said yes. The best pitch he had ever been dealt. When he got home he read the fine print and was able to rescind the deal. He still has not figured out why he agreed to it to begin with. He said it was the smoothest operation he has ever witnessed. This dude is a smart man and he said they worked every angle and had a rebuttal for every thing he threw out at them.
June 16, 201511 yr Mr. Cat and I sat through one of those presentations while in Vegas a couple of years ago. We got out of there with some great gifts but man, talk about cut throat hard selling! At one point, the guy says that I should pretty much question Mr. Cat's love for me since he would not budge on buying one for me. That's a classic selling technique right there!
June 16, 201511 yr I bought a timeshare in Tahoe after a high pressure pitch. Thank goodness for cooling off periods,
June 17, 201511 yr "Put that coffee down. Coffee is for closers". A -always, B-be, C- closing! Classic movie.
