black wire Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 JC by 10... I think JC press will prove to be to much for Magoffin. JC will capitalize on all of the turnovers that there press causes...
napster Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 They're playing @ Magoffin County. No way Johnson Central wins by 15 to 25 points! Magoffin County can beat Johnson County @ Magoffin or @ Johnson Central. In fact, Magoffin can beat any team in the 15th Region at home or away. But Magoffin has a knack for losing games they should win. If Magoffin keeps their heads, they will beat Johnson Central by 10. But they have to keep the turnovers down. They have to remain patient when crunch time comes at the end of the game. They can't afford to start turning the ball over or taking silly shots when they're trying to close the game out. Eric Arnett and Brandon Shepherd are two very good guards that can score a lot of points. But the Hornets also have two serious scoring threats in the paint. They have to feed those guys the whole game. That will get points for the Hornets, it will get fouls on the Golden Eagles, and it will open up the game for Arnett, Shepherd, and Fletcher. When the guards get anxious and start rushing their passes, they turn the ball over. When they feel like they have to make something happen, they usually drive into the teeth of the defense or put up a crazy shot. If they'll just be patient and let the game come to them, they'll beat Johnson Central and look good doing it.
RonnieThePopular Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I disagree about your first couple of lines Napster. I have seen a couple of Magoffin Co. games and a couple of Johnson Central games and Magoffin Co will lose. They have a big team but are sometimes clumsy with the ball and Johnson Central will capatilize on these mistakes.
BOOYAH10 Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I think that JC, if they come prepared to play should win this ball game. Don't take me wrong, Magoffin is no slouch of a team. They are physical and like to get in your face. They knack is that they can't handle pressue very well and if JC plays the defense they are capable of playing then I'll take JC by 15+
KingoftheMnts Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 JC by 10+ if they play at Magoffin, Central, rec center, or where ever they want to play it.
ballcrazy Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 If Shepherd and Helton play their A game Magoffin wins BIG.
Diamond Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 RonnieThePopular, Maybe they ought to go ahead and not even play the game. Give JC a victory for this game? Tough to go on the road anywhere in the 57th District and get a win. This is the reason teams play the games. If I remember correctly, this is the reason they played the District game a couple of years at Magoffin.
LCHS 1996 Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I pick JC in a close one. Free throws making the difference IMO.
