Even though it hurts me to say it nice win by the Pandas, seems they are starting to play well at the right time. How has Bracken been this year?

 

Bracken has played well at times and struggled at times (evidently last night was one of those times). They are a young team with the oldest girls being only sophomores, so hopefully, things will come together for them...

Seemed like a very cleanly played game from the Pandas. Very few mistakes but I am not much of an expert on Fast Pitch.

How has Bracken been this year?

 

As Bluespecter stated, they've been up & down. I watched them play Brossart & they looked like a near unbeatable team on that evening. Conversely, I also saw the Nicholas County game, in which they made some serious blunders in the field. There's certainly no shame in losing to Nicholas County, because just using the eye test, the Lady Jackets are better than both Brossart & Bracken.

 

I think the biggest struggle for the Lady Bears has obviously been the injury sustained by Sara Sticklen. She was the team's top returning player, top returning pitcher, top returning fielder, & top returning hitter. Her absence has led sophomore Emma Conley to shoulder basically the entire pitching load. At times, like the Brossart game, she has been dominant. At other times, such as last night's game, she has not. I just think she is wearing down as the season progresses.

 

Take that for what its worth, as I've only seen two or three games this year. But that's my gut feeling from what I've seen & heard.

In looking at the NDA schedule is the next game against Highlands on Monday at Highlands? I have learned to not trust the early schedule of games.

Bracken is a young team and the ups and downs come with being young.
