statman
Holy Cross goes to state | NKY.com | cincinnati.com I am extremely proud of these young men. I think I'm gonna have to pack up and head to Lexington next weekend. Can't wait to see them for the first time this year. Good Luck Indians!! Baseball Nut 24
Fuller's blast no doubt set the tone for the game in the top of the 1st, putting HC up 2-0. After Tiberi gives up a run in the bottom of 1st, he was outstanding the rest of the game yielding only 3 hits. Story of the game IMO though was pitching and defense. Danville struggled on their home field committing 6 errors, meanwhile the visiting Indians were error-free, making several nice plays. The game was played in a steady mist/rain that never got heavy until HC's bus pulled away after the game. The Caudill kid that threw for Danville is a very solid pitcher who throws very hard with a nice curveball to add to it. I heard there was a radar gun there after the game and they said Caudill threw consistently in the mid-upper 80s with 1 pitch clocked at 91. Tiberi was in low-mid 80s all night long and had his curveball and changeup working all night. Hats off to Danville. A great setting for a High School game and they had their field in great shape considering the rain that went through there yesterday. HC advances to the 8-team All A State tournament on May 5th where they will take on Walton Verona in the first round at 9:15 am.

Kentonman
Given that Danville was a top 10 team. Does this raise Holy Cross and Cov Cath to that level?
Baseball Nut 24
Cov Cath was already ranked 4th this week (HC unranked this week, however has to get consideration after this win and also having a road win at Harrison Co earlier) so IMO Cov Cath was already at that level now, also considering their 21-1 record. CC has defeated HC twice already this year (6-3 and 4-1) however i will note that CC hasn't seen any of the top pitchers for Holy Cross yet. District seed game between CC and HC to be played on May 10th.
Baseball Nut 24
To clarify last post of CC being ranked #4 in state this week. This was from the Super 25 Computer Rankings. Sorry about that. Boys Varsity Baseball HighSchoolSports.net-Massey Top 25 Ratings Latest KY HS Baseball Association Poll had Cov Cath at #14. I believe that new/updated poll comes out today but I am not 100% sure of that.
