The short time frame for accepting applicants, from Monday to Friday, makes it seem like the replacement was already known.

The official word from the school as to why they let Starnes go was "they wanted to take the program in a different direction". However not chance it wasn't because of the locker room incident earlier in the year that lead to the dismissal of several players as well as criminal charges. To be honest I was surprised he last as long as he did after that mess came out.

 

There is an article in the gleaner today stating they want to have a replacement hired by May 21st.

I think Coach Starns was in a no win situation. Some players violated team and school rules and he dismissed them from the team. Then parents got involved and you know where that went.

Oh I agree 100%. Starns did the right thing and not everyone was happy about kids being dismissed.

Could he go to Morehead if Coach Wells gets that job?

Tyler Smithhart, first year coach at Christian Co. will be taking the job at Henderson Co. He played ball there while in high school, so he is going back home.
