If you can't throw strikes, you can't win. After Schultz had trouble in the 2nd (0-0 after 1), Heck, Bausch and Duesing followed.

JV and Frosh both lost in extra innings to St. X yesterday.

How can anything good come from this match up.

What was gained? Experience

Please!

St. X misses an extra point.

Thanks for the update jpa. St X is a machine in baseball. Tough game to play. Highlands has actually been competitive a few years ago even winning one or two. I remember their coach calling the Highlands win a "banquet win" in the papers. Hahaha! Not much respect there I guess.

I can't speak to the Frosh game, but the JV game was very good. Martin pitched the first 5 or so innings very effectively, and the Birds were on top for the majority of that time. The JV Birds hit the ball very well all night long, including in the bottom of the 8th after X had gone up by a few in the top of the frame. Unfortunately, just couldn't get enough across & left the bases loaded to end the game.

It was my first time at a JV game this season, and I was very impressed with the team overall. As a group the kids hit the ball very well, play good defense, and seem to have a little swagger going. They were not intimidated by the physically much larger X squad, and kept fighting right up to the end.

Keep it up boys! :thumb:

i am confused again ( i know hard to believe) was the score of all 3 games 23-0 combined or just the varsity game?
