The number of students at Calvary have dropped since the days of Nick Benge and John VanDerMeer. From what I have been told enrollment is picking up, so maybe the new coaches will have a little more to work with.
We ate there on Wednesday night for the soft opening. The inside is very nice, with lots of big screen TVs. All the food we tried was very good. If you are in that area, you should stop in and give it a try.
They have to play the # 8 team in the nation tonight. If they can win, they will face the #2 team in the nation tomorrow night. They are expecting a sellout tonight, so get there early if you don't have tickets already.
They actually have a great coach! This is only his second year, so I would look for them to keep improving throughout the year. I think they will be very dangerous come 10th Region tournament time.
In the past, there has been the option not to play the district games and take the last place seed in the district tournament. I am not sure if that has changed in recent years.
Thomas More scrimmages Division II Ohio Dominican tonight at Thomas More. This will be a return to Northern Kentucky for Sarah Futscher from Brossart, who plays at Ohio Dominican.
Jenny decided she did not want to play basketball her senior year. She is still at the school, but is not playing. Thomas More is ranked #3 in the nation in the coaches pre season poll.
