  1. This change would be bad for high school baseball. The squeeze play is such an important part of the high school game. The pitcher has to be able to keep the runner on third honest.
  2. The Norton issue aside, Troy Roberts is a great hire. He will do an outstanding job at SK. Not long ago, he led Scott to 2 straight regional finals (and had to get out of a pretty tough district before that). I would be more concerned right now if I were a fan of Scott, not SK.
  3. The issue was not daylight anyway. It may have been that tornado/monsoon that came through about 7:15. If two games were started at 5:00, both of them might have ended up getting suspended.
  4. A month ago, all teams in the district were given two options. Option 1: play one game each day (M, T, W, F). Thursday is not an option at St. Mary because they have grade school graduation that night, and parking/traffic would be impossible. Option 2: play 2 Monday, 1 Tuesday, and have the finals Wednesday. Every one of the schools agreed on Option 2. There is daylight until 8:30. The games were flipped to accommodate Scott's transportation needs. Mel did not put the schedule together either. So there are the facts. By the way, how many other 5-team districts in the state are now in the position, despite this weather, to only have one more game to play to complete its tournament???
  5. I guess Campbell and Brossart moved to the 9.5th Region.
  6. Which KY players got taken in the MLB Draft? (team? round?)
  7. Referring to Bishop Brossart as "Bishop" is like referring to St. Henry as "Saint" or Holy Cross as "Holy". I'd rank them as follows: 1. Holy 2. Bishop 3. Saint That being said, Covington is more talented than any of these, and Larry A. is pretty good too. Don't even get me started on County.
  8. Anyone know the sectional matchups for the All A for 2010?
  9. Harrison County in 2 games, but both are close and low-scoring. And Oscar eats trash, not cookies. You're thinking of someone else. Don't try to say that he's the one with a woolly mammoth for an imaginary friend either.
  10. from AA Hwy, take 275-West for a few miles, then 71/75-South to the first Erlanger exit. Take a right off the exit. St. Henry is on the right within a 1/4-mile. Park in front of school, then have to walk behind school to find field. It's a great facility - old Riverfront Stadium seats behind home plate. Get there a bit early to get one of those seats. Not sure about concessions.
  11. Sounds good. Double elimination for everything. We'll just have to push the state finals back to mid-July.
