  1. Only a hack would think that these coaches are hacks. The problems at mercer would make any coach that is worth anything think real hard, is it worth it to but your family in that spot light.
  2. Coach Brown turns down Mercer Co job, he chose to stay at Rowan Co. GOOD for him
  3. Great move good coach he will get the job done:ylsuper:
  4. Why? I have seen how he has changed things at Rowan Co. in just one year, and he was hired late for the job. A great young coach that a program would be proud to have.
  5. Yes Fort Campbell looked good. Male #2 team looked pretty good for the bracket they were in as well as warren, Lou- Eastern,I thought Lou-Western would have looked better. Lexington Cat. #2 did not look good they struggled. I never made it over to the main field to see Lexington #1 or Male #1 ect... But I did get to see a lot of good FOOTBALL:ylsuper:
  6. How many teams will look at him as running back, and how many as a outside linebacker??? I would say most as a linebacker. What would you say??
  7. I think the line is better suited for the power game over the spread, slow feet, big bodies if they get on you, you will move:ylsuper:
  8. Well you need to talk to the players they are all talking about it, but I do agree that when things get going Coach P will go back to what he knows even if it is not working. He has the linemen to power the ball and keep the clock running lets hope he will take advantage of them they are his best unit.
  9. I hear that FC will be running wishbone power and option 50% of the time this year and the move of newsom to tight end is where he needs to play. he has good hands and will get in there and mix it up -Vs- the def. linemen let us wish all the players the best of luck in 2009!
  10. How would everyone here feel if they were Powell Co? They have a program with problems. (The lost to Jackson Co. is just one that stands out) Then after the season is over (While you are fixing the problems ) you find out you are going to play a 5A school in district, that in no way will help you rebuild your program!( It could even drive in down farther) The Wisdom of KHSAA chose to punish the schools that did not consolidate and reward the school that did. I unstand the problems with getting games for Harlan Co. at the 5A level, But the KHSAA should have help get those games even if they were not in any district for one year. This was not done so Powell reacted (Knee jerk ) by dropping Harlan Co. I don not think what Powell did was right, but KHSAA was also wrong ! lets try too see both sides of the problem and as fans, players and coaches we can come up with a way that KHSAA with input from us can slove this problem and not put other schools in the same spot as Powell Co. & Harlan Co.
  11. Who does Breathitt have coming back? The OL( they were good not great) and one RB. With a new QB( he did well at times, but ??? ) and WR ( I think the little speed demon is now gone) that is a lot of yards, points, and leadership to fill, as I said earlier they have a good progam and put in the hard work to be #1 :thumb:. Harlan Co. has a coach that will instill the same work ethics that have gave Breathitt their state titles. Harlan Co. could give the Bobcats a real good fight:fight:
  12. Seems that Breathitt and Harlan may be 1 & 2 by the voices here, but Fleming 4th and Estill 3rd? Breathitt has a good progam and puts in the work to be #1. Harlan is a 5A school in numbers with at least 33 starters from the three schools. Playing smaller schools, they should give even Breathitt a good game (just in numbers of players, with a coach like Larkey!) BUT, do not count out Estill & Fleming. Both programs fight hard and do not give up. One or both of those teams could beat the top two.
  13. Fleming County was not in this district last year but will be back in it for 2009:rolleyes:
  14. I must make a correction I have had a few phone calls to tell me that FCHS did in fact look good & that FCHS beat SLHS in both games that they play in  sorry I will try to get it right the next time :thumb:
