  1. Knipp and Ison from Elliott County Terry from Fairview Delaney, Greg and Whetsel from Ashland Williams from Greenup County Rayburn and Brown from West Carter Skaggs from Russell
  2. I say they flip for it! Now really...This one could be too close to call. If the mid-season West team shows up, then West should win this one with ease. If not it will be a close one and I'd have to give Morgan the edge. They've been playing better of late than West.
  3. Great game! Both teams played with heart and intensity the entire game. I attended both the regular season games, along with seeing each team play several other games this year. None of them made any comparison to last night's. (No, not even Elliott's two games with Mason and Ballard) Why? This game had it all.... a packed house(that's putting it mildly), an atomsphere that could've taken the roof off, and two teams that weren't ready end their season. This is what high school basketball is all about. As for the game, East did everything they needed to do to win, and they did win this game in almost all aspects, just not the one that counted. The scoreboard. Elliott did what every good team does, they found a way to win. East was peaking at the right time, it is a shame they won't playing in Morehead. Great Season Raiders!
  4. This is a shame! This is high school basketball, not the NBA. What about those fans who aren't physically able to attend, but still follow on the radio? In our athlete's case, they have a 96 year old great grand-parent who listens to every game. If this is happens, this would be an terrible thing to do, just to get more $$$.
  5. This has DANGER written all over it. With all the events of this week and this is always and emotional game for the players (this is East Carter's senior night), this game could be interesting. Rex will have the Eagles fired up and ready, it will be left up to East to see how they respond . I'm willing to say they (East)may feel they have something to prove and come out fired up to play. With that said I'll take East in this one.
  6. Anyone ever road a roller coaster? .... up and down, up and down,.... how many hills can you take? A coin toss to decide this mess... Supposedly each team would have the same odds in their favor, but explain how fair it really is to these teams? If you were a player and your team was in this situation, which would you rather do? Have your team's fate hang on a coin toss or lay it all out on the line and play your heart out in a playoff game? I'm pretty sure it would be an easy choice for many......
  7. East came out ready to play tonight. They played with a lot of intensity from start to finish. Not sure of the stats but East had a balanced scoring attack, with all 5 starters in double figures. East got BIG play from Caleb Adams and Connor Robinson, when Bair got into foul trouble. Good passing, tight defense, and team work were the keys in tonight's win. Great Job Raiders!!!!
  8. Good win for the Raiders! Agree with an early statement that it was nice to see them fight hard to win a close one. A few key things at the end of the game where they showed a lot of heart. They got a bucket /and1 from Pemberton, a rebound and charge taken by Adams, and sent 3 different players to the free throw line (Barnhill, Jackson, and Bair), where I think they went 5-6. This and good defense made the difference down the stretch. Good Job Raiders!
  9. Very well put. For whatever the reason for the "slow start" to the season, East WILL be fine. Just give them a little time, every team has it's growing pains. As for the Fairview game, it wasn't pretty for either team. The last few minutes of the game each team missed several shots, had any of them went in for East the outcome would have been different. And then there probably wouldn't have been any talk about the players or the coaches.
  10. Interesting... I agree the guards need to shot the ball (a lot) more, but maybe the guards are doing what they feel they have been told to do. Take it inside. It will take both guard play and the inside game to win ball games. They'll turn it around and get in rhythm.
  11. Watched the Wildcats play Sunday as they swept Alabama final score 5-1. Carroll hit a bomb in this game. He's the real deal.
  12. I've played them every year I've been in it. I don't think they were in it last summer. They wasn't in the tournament but I know they were the year before last. We beat them in the semi-finals to play Ashland in the championship. It was a close game though.
  13. If Greenup is so good, how come East's Babe Ruth team has never had a problem with them? They are a good team though.
  14. Craig Brammer from east is looking good needs to work a little bit harder but hes going to have a good season this year
