Congrats to Jtown, THE STATE CHAMPS!!! Congrats to the Apollo Eagles on a fine run! We are PROUD of you out west, here in the 3rd Region!!!!! While some may run down your style of play, it did work for you and that's all that matters! You did the same against us in the Region Championship, it took you three overtimes to win, but you did win! My hat is off to you guys!!! You won't hear us Ohio County fans complain about your style of play, we lost fair and square and you won fair and square. I'll see you in baseball this year Jake and good luck with your baseball career at WKU next year!!!

The 3rd Region Championship was an outstanding game where Apollo beat us in THREE overtimes! All I can say is what I have said every game of the Sweet Sixteen: Way to go Apollo Eagles!!! Keep representing the 3rd Region like you are!!! You are a great bunch of boys and best of luck, we back home in the 3rd are pulling for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to all the young men that made the team. Is it true that if your Coach is not a member of the KABC, no one on his team can make the list?

I believe the announcer at the game said Adam Harris. I know a bunch of us looked at each other and said "Who???"

The M-I had Aaron Morris on the team for Muhlenberg North. I know they can be wrong as they also had Shaun Heflin instead of Shaun Maiden. If was Harrison, then it would be Justin not Adam as MN doesn't have an Adam.

I won't make any predictions on the game, but I will try to provide a little info on the Apollo Eagles. They average giving up 50.3 points a game while scoring 55.5 points a game. They have three very good guards with Doug Denton, Jake Wells, and Tyler Brown. Denton and Wells are Seniors and have Sweet Sixteen experience from two years ago. Brown is just a Sophomore, but he is VERY athletic. They do have a little size on their interior game, but their guard play is the strength of the team They are a very solid defensive team. Of their ten loses this year nine of them have been fairly close for a margin of 44 points total in those nine games. If they play you like they played us in both games, they will spread the defense until they get the shot they want. I guess you could say they are very methodical in their offensive play. Good luck to both teams, but I hope you don't mind that I am pulling for Apollo as they are representing my Region and I know one kid on their team!!!

No, Apollo isn't a private school. It is one of the two Owensboro City schools. Owensboro Senior High is the other public school in Owensboro, and then you have Daviess County High School in Owensboro's city limits. Owensboro Catholic is the only private school.

Congrats to the Apollo Eagles on a hard fought victory. Best of luck in the Sweet Sixteen! Represent the 3rd Region well!!! I want to add that, Jake Wells is a class act. Keep showing that type of sportsmanship like you did after the game, I know Josh and Shaun appreciate it, and you will go far in life. Jake, I am PROUD the 3rd Region has kids like you in it!!! Congrats to the Ohio County Eagles on everything you have done this year. You have faced a lot of adversity this season, and kept your heads held high! I am proud of all of you. To my three Seniors: Josh Vaught, Shaun Maiden, and Jordan James - guys you have been teammates for a LONG time and have been friends even longer. Never let that friendship escape you as you go about different aspects of your lives. I know you are down right now, but always keep your heads held high!!! You left everything you had on the court and NO ONE can ask anything more of you. All three of you are GREAT young men and I consider it an HONOR to know you as well as I do!!!

Congrats to the Aces on a very fine season. To the nine Seniors for Catholic, always hold your heads up high, you are a great bunch of young men!!! A big Congrats to my Ohio Co. Eagles!!! I am very proud of you and especially the three Seniors: Vaught, Maiden, and James. All three of you played a great game. Maiden with your threes, James driving the lane, and Vaught with your assists and your clutch three-pointer and free throws at the end of the game. You have dealt with a lot of strife in your high school careers, especially with the loss of big Clemons(another Senior) due to his injuries from the auto accident. Josh, we continue to keep you in our prayers and hope you get well soon and will get a scholarship somewhere. A lot of us knew you could win this game if you played like the team you are!!! Good luck Saturday night, WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!!!

3rd Region, it has to be Owensboro Catholic. Everyone else is behind them a ways.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Josh was released from the hospital yesterday!!! He still has a long row to hoe before he is fully recovered.

Josh was moved out of ICU and into a private room today!!! Way to go Big Josh!!! He looked much better today too and even was joking with his teammates last night and today. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes for this fine, young man. He needs plenty more, but he will be okay.
