  1. Moore continued one of their best seasons in school history with a 34-7 blowout of John Hardin, securing the district title in the process. The Mustangs look like the favorite in region 2, but first look to extend their win streak to five in a row when they host 3-6 Henry County. The Wildcats have lost four in a row, failing to top 14 points in all but two of their games this season. Last year was a tight 13-8 decision in this game, won by Moore. Might we be in for another surprise close call?
  2. The Mustangs are hunting for a district title as the winner of this matchup will earn the top seed from District 3. Moore is having a stellar year at 7-1, and their only loss coming on the road at #1 Johnson Central. They'll have had 15 days to prepare for this one, and they'll look to build on the 15-0 shutout of John Hardin they inflicted a year ago. Meanwhile, John Hardin has experienced a resurgence after 2017's disappointing run. They've won six straight to move to 7-2, and haven't allowed double digits since mid-September. The Bulldogs have been accustomed to high-pressure games this year - they've played four games decided by six points or less, and are 3-1 in those. Who takes the district title?
  3. Moore has their second straight Thursday night special when they visit Western on the 4th. The Mustangs are 6-1 and will need to not overlook this matchup ahead of their bye week and their October 19th meeting with John Hardin - the anticipated district title game. Moore has not been scored on the past two weeks, outscoring Valley and Breckinridge County 61-0 in seven quarters of play. Western is winless at 0-7, enduring a tough year that has seen them put up only 29 points to date. They fell to Breckinridge County two weeks ago 39-6 - this would seem to be a massive mismatch. Will Moore stay hot?
  4. Moore got in some light work a week ago, moving to 5-1 with a 27-0 win over Valley that was stopped with more than 3 minutes left in the third quarter. That was their lone home game between August and mid-October, and it's back to the road for a Thursday showdown with Breckinridge County. Breckinridge is a respectable 3-3, and just grabbed a big win over Western that may just get them into the playoffs. They were winless a season ago - can they spoil Moore's district title aspirations or do we continue the march to an October 19th showdown with John Hardin?
  5. Moore was knocked from the unbeaten ranks by top rated Johnson Central, but hung relatively tough on the long road trip, falling 49-21. They were mostly undone in a stretch of the second half that saw 21 straight by the Golden Eagles to break open a 21-7 Johnson Central game at the half. Still a positive showing for the Mustangs as they enter as sizable favorites into the district play. They start with 1-4 Valley, who fell to Fairdale by a 21-14 decision last week. Last year Valley ended an 0-5 start with a 13-7 stunner at home over Moore. Can they pull it off again, this time on the road?
