  1. This is a bold statement.

Whats bold about it exactly? That PRP played them to a 3 point game in the playoffs and return more players? That PRP's results have been better so far this year? That PRP looks in better condition is playing harder and faster and is executing better on film? Or just that how dare I think that a team 3 spots behind in the ranking could possibly be playing better? What part of that is bold?

  2. Back in the old days mid 80s we played 2 Babe Ruth All-Star games during the heat of the day. First Game at 2 and I pitched that game with temps around 100. We watched the next game and played after that around 6 615 with temps still mid upper 90s and played CF. Wet towels and lots of water but we all survived luckily. Couple of kids did become nauseous and one our catcher got sick. No one back then even questioned the heat. Played many little league and Babe Ruth games in oppressive heat.

Because its not the heat that kills people. Lack of acclimatization, asthma, or heart irregularities kill people.

  3. I really hope no one gets hurt. That's just plain idiotic but if that kind of judgement is what's leading Boone County's football program it speaks volumes to the current state of a once proud program.

Idiotic? Nah. In todays age it shouldn't happen but we scrimmaged Boyle county 3 times in 3 days back when they were in their heyday. Our coach and Chuck Smith aren't idiotic.

  4. We do a 3 day camp at West Georgia. It's awesome. 15-20 show up and you get to five 40 minute scrimmages in shells plus a red zone challenge that's like college OT. You really find out your strengths and weaknesses there and what to work on. It's so much better than all of the 7v7 crap. We also do 2 one day camps where 3-5 teams will meet at a school and scrimmage each other. These usually include a one on one DB/WR challenge, board drills with the lineman, an inside/skelly period, then normal scrimmage.

Thats so much more useful than KY rules

  5. Good god, man, you seem to have quite the fixation on McCracken. NOT ONCE did I say McCracken had EVER BEEN the top-5 team in the state. I was talking hypotheticals, about ANY 6A school outside Louisville. I guess you were confused that this started as a McCracken thread. Sorry for hijacking but you are arguing with yourself on this.

Of course you are right. In a McCracken thread- with a guy whose name is MCPressbox-who has 50 total posts and 47 are about McCracken and 3 are about M ayfield- I just happened to pick the tome you aren't talking about McCracken. My bad. Doesnt address the facts I put out and the argument you are trying to make about western KY teams in the 6a playoffs vs Louisville. You must have been talking about Henderson, Daviess, and Muhlenberg going 10-0 and losing early in the playoffs.

  6. Lets talk math for a minute and I'll be on Cols bandwagon for a minute, which is weird. Calpreps has something called wins vs the top 1000 in the nation. Those are elite wins. Over the last 5 years the best program in each class has:

    6A Trinity 25-13 vs top 1000

    5A Bowling Green 7-2 vs top 1000

    4A Johnson Central 1-4 vs top 1000

    3A Belfry 2-2 vs top 1000

    2A Desales 1-2 vs top 1000

    1A Beechwood 0-3 vs top 1000

McCracken is 1-6 in this time frame.

The 5th best such record in the state overall is Scott Co 6-5 The 5th best record in 6a is Lafayette 6-6.

Indeed welcome to 6a just don't be so fast to proclaim yourself top 5. "knowing you are a top 5 team " post 25

  7. Goes back to the old debate about whether it's better to win a state title in Class 1A or go regular-season unbeaten in 6A and lose to one of the Louisville powers early the playoffs. You know the 6A is a far better team, but in 1A you have hardware.

That isn't an age old debate for most of us. It sounds like a Mayfield/McCracken thing that mustang fans have come up with. How many times have they beaten Mayfield? They'd have to beat Mayfield in a year to actually hypothesize that they'd win that class that year.(albeit with 3 to 4 x the boy)
