  1. What about honorable mention. Any thoughts on that?
  2. First, I don't think anyone means to say that the boys on the list are not deserving. They all are but... after doing some research on this subject, there was no "tallying" to it. Looks like the ones submitted by the coaches were the ones put on the list. (Unless someone from the Ashland Daily chose from the list). So why not put three or four on the list like Boyd County did. They gave it a shot and look what happened. Why didn't the other coaches do the same? Just a thought.
  3. Just wondering how these are picked? I would have thought Greenup would have had more than two also. There are some others on that team I would have picked.
  4. I do not understand some of you on this topic. I only stated that SOME of the credit should be given to a past coach and it was completely blown out of context. Getting defensive about it was not called for. Your comment "Coach Logan doesn't deserve any of the credit" was never stated. Please read more carefully before you post. You also stated that he has been in baseball for many years in this area. This is also true. But why? Like I said he has an investment and has followed it as any parent should. You may not care if he stays after another two years but there is something to say about consistency in a coach at the high school level. As far as the fans go, I do not know what happened at Sectionals either, but you can have fun and still show a little class. After all, you are representing your county, school, etc. Do not try to justify behavior that is uncalled for. GC baseball players, from what I have seen, have shown a lot of class. Maybe the parents need to watch them a little closer. Let's end the discussion on this topic.
  5. I did not say to give all the credit to Coach McGlone or Coach Logan. There are many people who play a part in the boys and their talent. Some of the talent on the team is just pure God given ability. Give the boys most of the credit! Also, maybe there was a lack of experience with the past coach, but we all have to start somewhere. I do not know much about the team, but I do know that the GC fans need to act like adults and not children. It is hard to distinguish the parents from the students at these games.
  6. I would have to disagree with you GCGuard. Coach McGlone, and his assistants should be given some credit. I do feel that Coach Logan has the heart for it. (he does have an investment) Which brings up another question, how long will he stay? We may never know if Coach McGlone could have made it to State. From my observation as an "outsider", why would any coach take the criticism that he took at each game from parents of so called "want to be coaches." McGlone coached three years and I could see how well he knew the game. Tubby's first year as coach, UK won the National Championship, but with Pitino's boys. Congratulation to GC baseball team! Good Luck at State!
