  1. I don't think the roster spots will be an issue. I'm sure Calipari has stressed that there's nothing to worry about with that.

I agree that Calipari would have stressed this point......IMO the logical progression would be for a spot to open BEFORE a commitment given. Its a pretty big decision for theses kids...I wouldnt commit until I knew the scholly was available.

  2. In 5 words or less, how would you feel if a press conference is held and Barnhart says, "The new men's basketball coach at the University of Kentucky will be...

    1) John Calipari." Cant get comfortable with this....

    2) Billy Donovan." Cant repeat Pitino's performance

    3) Tom Izzo." Great, Great, Great, Great hire

    4) Travis Ford." Not ready for prime time.......

    5) Bobby Knight." Will kids play for him?

    6) John Pelphrey." Please dont destroy Unforgettable memories.

    7) Sean Miller." Could be his big break

    8) Jamie Dixon." His style wins games

    9) Jay Wright." Not sure, wait and see

    10) Rick Barnes." Say it aint so Mitch

    Here are my thoughts...

  3. He is out as far as I am hearing and the next coach has UK ties and their team is still playing.:sssh:

    There were meeting yesterday....

What about Jim Boehim? His wife is from Harlan, went to school through the eighth grade in Harlan. She later attended UK and then lived in Lexington, where Boeheim met her at a Kentucky Derby party in 1994........

  4. Did the coaches vote to switch officials? I don't like it, what about the officials, I could not imagine that the refs wanted to do all that traveling!!!

It is my understanding that the officials would rather go out of region....too many officials end up scratched after a coach has a bad night in the regional tournament. When the season ends somebody has to take the blame. Plus they dont live/work in those communities so they dont have to hear about it long after it is over.

  5. Ferg is not 6'2, I stood beside him last night after the game and he is pushing 6'0 and that is with shoes on. If he playes the 2 in college he may want to learn how to dribble with his head up. Noticed something last night that I have not noticed with him before. He is comfortable going North and South, but only takes 2 maybe 3 dribbles at the max left or right and they are always with his head down looking at the ball. It's so hard to pick up because 95% of the time you see the kid playing North and South.

Last time I checked thats where the buckets hang.......not many points have been scored going East/West.

I disagree. If the shooter is still in the air after his release and a foul occurs it should be considered part of the shooting motion. Don't know if that's the rule, but that is my take on it.

My pet peeve is contact with the free throw shooter after release. If a player is boxing out contact should not be made until the ball hits the rim. That is why it is a FREE throw.

In high school players are not allowed to enter the lane until the ball hits the rim.....

  7. Maybe a formal announcement would violate some type of academic privacy issue.........

Didnt Galloway have some type of hold up with UK admissions in addition to the clearinghouse? I wonder if this has bee resolved too.

  8. They are both good to go, and have been cleared, from what I have heard and as I have suspected, UK is not going to make a big deal about it and go public with much.

Not 100% positive, but it is what I have been told.

Just to clarify....You are not 100% positive of their being cleared? or of UK's plans to make an announcement?
