What are you talking about pal? (always on the short end?) they have only lost 2 games in the region and both were very controversial. This particular game clearly had a couple of more than controversial calls!! The other game they lost was controversial also, but this one was Ridiculous. As for watching the tape, one reason is to make sure I am accurate when commenting on it. Contrary to you, making bold comments from your view point way up in the rafters. You did say you were sitting at the top of the stands didnt you????

You have absolutely got to be kidding!! Johnson caught the ball and and was knocked backwards before he even had a chance to lower his shoulder Leo. I have watched it on video about 100 times and I can guarantee you he did not lower his shoulder! Johnson came and met the ball, was turning and was hit from behind man and knocked backwards and off balance. I have no idea what you could have been looking at!!! Zachary also threw his hands up in the air, the thing kids always do when they have fouled someone and are trying to make it look like they really didnt foul when they know that they definitely did.

Hey Bubba and HDE, do you guys agree that a big district showdown in our region should be treated no differently by officials than a big game in the sweet 16

I cant really agree you with completely on that Bubba, Bell has not dominated either of those teams and Cumberland was in control of the Bell game fairly well until their point guard got his 3rd fould early in the 3rd quarter on an offensive foul away from the ball and in his absence in that quarter committed 8 of their 14 turnovers and let them back in the game, then the rest is well documented. All of this with Garfield Wilson sitting with an injured toe!

Bubba, Cawood and Middlesboro are both solid teams and regardless of which team gets the one seed they wont know if they will be matched up with until the coin toss is done for the 3/4 seeds. So I dont understand what you mean by saying if Bell gets the one seed they should coast in?

Actually Bubba, it really doesnt change things a bit because it was going to come down to a coin toss for the 3 and 4 seed anyway between Cawood and Middlesboro. Now, there will be two coin tosses for 1st and 2nd and 3rd and 4th, so any way you would have sliced it, it was going to come down to a coin toss to determine who they would be matched up against in a semifinal game, only diffwerence is now there will be two coin tosses.

I still haven't heard one poster try to explain how 4 different acts on the court (1.ball tipped up in the air, 2. ball caught and pulled down, 3. ball dribbled with at least one step, maybe two and 4. a shot released) all in 1.0 seconds!!!!! Also, not even mentioned because there has been so much talk of this play, is the last possesion of regulation with either 1.3 or 1.8 seconds on the clock Cumberland inbounded the ball at half court to Johnson and Zachary going after the ball very hard collided into Johnson clearly knocking him completely off balance thus making it impossible to get a shot off before the buzzer. From what I was told, one of the officials told Cumberland's coaches that they didnt think the game should end on a foul like that???? Then they had the nerve to call that last basket in overtime good and sprint off the floor like they had just robbed a bank or something and not even give Cumberland enough respect to stop and all 3 of them discuss such an important play and make sure they all agreed whether or not the goal was good. I mean PLAIN AND SIMPLE that is just ABSOLUTELY NOT RIGHT and I would really hate to see that ever happen to any team in the 13th region ever again!!!! Is that the way sweet 16 state championship[ game would ever end?? ABSOLUTELY NOT, the 3 officials would get together and very thoroughly discuss what had happened and make a group decision, so why should a big District showdown game in this region be handled any different?????

Thanks for a little support there for the Skins HDE. Seems like every time they stumble the least bit everyone wants to discard them as not being a legitimate contender. Those that choose to believe that may be in for a rude awakening come tournament time

Final at Dilce Combs High School Saturday night. Seems like the Skins are pretty dangerous when there are no 13th region zebra's around.

Let's see, Cumberland beats Bell by 23 at home then loses by two in overtime at Bell without their leading scorer, on one very ridiculous call, not to mention other questionable calls and all of a sudden Bell is better than Cumberland?????????? I dont think so fella's that doesnt even come close to adding up. Why dont you and the other fella that agreed with you on that GET A CLUE!! Also, what has Jackson, Clay or Knox done to show they are better than da Skins or even what has Corbin, South or Pineville done for that matter. Cumberland has lost 3 games to Kentucky teams all of which they held 4th quarter leads before falling and that is supposed to make someone believe there are 6 or 7 teams better than them in the Region????

The clock keeper was slow starting the clock and the horn DID sound clearly before the shot got off!!! Anyone that was at the game regardless of who they were pulling for knows it was an absolutely horrible call

I agree with you and it will also be a little more legitimate when the officials from another region are calling the games. There is so much room for personal bias after referrreing in a region for a few years and developing relationships with certain coaches and administrators, it is just plain and simple AWFUL. NO ACCOUNTABILITY for ridiculous officiating

You are absolutely correct and that is absolutely what happened. Go to (harlandaily.com) and read the story on it. Call and ask anyone that was at the game, they will tell you the same. The same ref that called that bucket good also called Cumberland's point guard for his 3rd foul early in the 3rd quarter on a play away from the ball, as he made a cut through the lane his progress was impeded by contact and somehow an offensive foul was called, then while he sat Cumberland had 8 of their 14 turnovers and let Bell back in a game they had control of.

Garfield Wilson did not play due to an injured toe, and I can not believe that no one has commented on the unbelievably controversial play that that ended this game. With 1.0 seconds on the clock in overtime and the score tied, Cumberland had the ball out of bounds on Bell County's end of the floor. The Cumberland kid throwing it in bounds tried to throw a long pass and it got DEFLECTED upward in the air, then the Bell kid CAUGHT it and then TOOK a DRIBBLE and A STEP or TWO and made a basket and one of the REFERRE's called it good and then all 3 of the REFS sprinted into the Bell County locker room area. There is absolutely no way possible that all of that could have occurred within 1.0 seconds.

There is one thing for sure, I dont think it will be easy for any of these teams to win 3 in a row in March. It will be survival of the Mentally and Physically toughest. It really should be an entertaining 13 region tournament this year!

I believe it will be Paintsville and Hazard in the Finals, an All Mountain Final. I have seen both of these teams and they are both very physical and very good. When the dust settles I think the Senior leadership of Paintsville will prevail in a classic battle.

Who they played in their region doesnt have squat to do with their draw in the state tournament. It doesnt take a lot of thought to see they got a great draw? Louisville Collegiate and now Murray in the 2nd round?

Ouch! now that has got to hurt! The Dogs may win it all. I know things will get tougher as they advance, but with all of those solid 6'4" 6'5" kids they have inside and a very good young PG they might be good enough to take it home

I do not think that the best overall team in the 13th region gets beat in the first round of the All A State. I know Bardstown is a good team, but they lost their two best players from last years team and maybe a couple more and they are not a great team by any stretch. Pineville is a good team, but definitely not the best in the region. I really dont think anyone has played well enough to be ranked #1 at this point, but I guess someone has to fill the slot for this week.
