Mitchell played at East as an eighth grader. Malik Stephenson left Catholic after freshman year and KHSAA never blinked an eye at ruling her eligible her sophomore year. Her reason for leaving Catholic: couldn't afford the tuition.

I am afraid with more colleges requiring their recruits to be on campus for summer classes these games will continue to lose their luster. Will Gray be able to play if she has to be at UNC in June?

London on leadership alone. Nothing at the state tournament equals beating Catholic twice in a week, once on their home floor. She makes everybody on her team better. You compare shots taken to the other leaders and I think you find London is a more effective scorer also.

I like Campbell too for her all round game. I think Emily London and Keyla Snowden should get some consideration too!

With one sub fouling out a regular had to take her spot..that was Cash..could've have been any starter. The point wasn't getting the ball inbounds, the point was it seemed to Catholic that Lafayette was pressing just to make the score closer(they didn't press against the starters in any of these games) so Coach Hans evidently wanted to make a point by handing the ball to Lafayette rather than make them press for the ball. A bush league play even he will admit. They did it last year against Catholic when Todd coached.

To set the record straight. The last three games between these schools have been blow outs going back to last year and each time when Catholic has substituted Lafayette has left their starters in the game and have begun pressing. The catholic coach called time out with 7 second left and told Kelly just to hand the ball to the girl guarding her so that Lafayette to get the lead under 20 points. Unfortunately a handing of the ball turned into a throw or toss.... but not at the coaches direction. Someone from Lafayette said they heard the Catholic coach tell her to throw the ball. Incorrect..I was in that huddle. Cash was in the game because Blake Ratliff had fouled out and Catholic only dresses 10 players. Coach Hans and Cash voluntarily took a game suspension because they regretted the incident and they knew it was not in the proper spirit of sportsmanship. Coach Hans regrets calling a time out with 7 seconds left must less asking Kellie to hand the ball to the girl guarding her. Before you say or think it I am not a Catholic apologist..but I do know the facts.

The LaFayette game got out of hand because Catholic coach took exception to LaFayette using full court press against his JV's. This has happened each time the schools have played
