What is happening at SH. They started the season so well and had high hopes this year. they have better talent than this. Has the coach changed the way they game plan or are the girls just losing interest in the season. I think after losing to NCC in the all A they really lost interest. They put alot of energy into there big goal of going down state for the A. When they lost it seemed to deflate them a little. They are to good to be losing by such big margins and to teams that they are far more talented than.
The coach needs to get these girls focused quickly or their season will be over before it needs to be. Nothing wrong with losing, but you want to walk off the court knowing you left it all out there. The seniors won't want their careers to end in a half hearted effort. Good luck girls.
Couldn't agree with you more.

Ballard has played a brutal schedule.
-
Does anyone have where the district is being played and a schedule?
-
My only add on might be St. Henry. They played Ryle pretty tough and are sitting at 17 and 5. Senior rich teams always are a hard out.
I don't think that St. Henry or Highlands will really be much threat to win the regional but they could defiantly knock off one of the top teams.

Big week for the Lady Breds!!!
Any details from this game.

It seems like eveyone is writing off St Henry and making this a four man race NCC, Ryle, Boone and ND.
St. Henry played NCC really tough in the All A. But they got absolutely drilled by Boone in losing by 32 points, I don't know how the Ryle game went but they are just 3-3 in their last 6. They are 0-4 against the top 4 teams in the region this year.

What game were you watching, most entertaining girls game I've seen all year. Both teams played very hard and physical. Very fun to watch. NewCath just played a little better defense than Ryle tonight. Ryle is very athletic and physical team, even more physical than NewCath. It's going to be one heck of a Regional Tournament.
NCC always plays great defense they are probally the best defensive team in the region.
It was good to see that Bartels bounced back after a very rough All A.

This has only happened like 3 times in 15 years so to say year in and year out is way off base. Boys and girls draw are the same in the 36th and the breakdown of when this happened is listed in the boys forum. So it looks like 80% of the time they avoid each other through a blind draw.
But its unfortunate you have to worry every year that you possibly will not have the best 8 teams at region.

I've only seen about a quarter of an NCC game over the Holidays at Lexington Catholic. Other than what I've read and heard from my fellow BGPers have said on here don't know much about them, but I know how tough Coach Dawn's teams traditionally are and I'm sure this year is no exception. I believe Ryle will have to play an exceptional game to come away with a victory.
They play outstanding on the defensive side of the ball by allowing just under 40 PPG, but sometimes they will struggle on the offensive side when they can't get their outside shooters open. IMO the key player for NCC in this game is the freshman Kiernan she must have a big game.
-
If NCC wants to win they will have to shoot the ball much better than they have been lately.
-
Fryer having 3 first half fouls hurt really bad, NCC really goes as she goes. She brings so much energy to their team. Congrats to Monroe Co. they made big shots when NCC made their run and good luck tomorrow.
-
Just curious, she is definately a beast but does she hav the talent around her to win it all. I saw them knockoff Lex Christian last year but they would have to play better than that to beat the likes of NCC.
After watching them for the last 2 days there is plenty if shooters around her. Today LCA took her completely out of the game and everyone else knocked down shots.
-
If there is a player in the State that is harder to stop than Greenwell, I have yet to see her play.
Agreed because of her size and then along with her quickness she can get about any shot that she wants.
-
She kind of struggled in the middle of the game, after scoring the first 15 points of the game.
-
Fryer had a huge game and just carried the Breds through the first half.
-
NCC has got to get it into the post more, they got it into Kiernan early and good things happened but then they kind of went away from her.

No not at all many class A teams play during the state tournament, you can't expect 125 teams to suspend their schedules because of a state tournament that they are not playing in. NCC has scheduled games in the past during the Class A state but then just had to cancel them when they made the tournament.
-
Highlands and NCC even went as far as to propose splitting the regional money equally amongst the five schools if they would vote to seed and that still did not produce the one more necessary vote. Personally I think this now has become so ingrained how the five schools vote I do not see anyone changing a vote any time soon. And in reality Newport would be the only one who would remotely consider. And trust me this vote does not come from coaches.
The only chance this district has of being seeded is if KHSAA jumps in and decides to seed all districts in the state and I do not see that happening anytime soon.

I wouldn't call WV schedule weak by any means. Careful what you wish for, as SK and WV wil probably meet again in the 32nd District finals. I also was not aware that Slavey suited up for Coach Stowers at one time.
I would say that WV has played a pretty good schedule thus far but I don't think that they know how to win tight games. Almost all of their wins have been blowouts, so in crunch time they might not preform as well.

To give up 27 points in a quarter is just inexcusable and particularly with a 15 point lead.
-
Wow complete shock i thought that Walton was in total control at the end of the 3rd, did Danville just make everything in the 4th?
-
Close win over a 10-10 team. Maybe tournament jitters?
No not at all, remember this team won this tournament last year and is built with seniors. Bartels really struggled with her shot tonight, so she had an off night and will rebound Friday. The Breds found a way to win on a night they struggled from the field.

I wouldn't say that Boone would only be marginal without Moss there is a reason that Boone has been great for so many years and it is because they have a great coach. Boone would still be a top 4 team in the region without Moss. Since 2000 Boone as either been 9th region champs or runner-up 8 times so i think they would be a littler better than marginal.
