  1. Good question. We'll find out in a year. Billy G isn't afraid to turn over a roster, and the guys that don't catch on next year will be gone if room is needed 12 months from now. Having one of the few guys that is a master at playing the recruiting game has a bit of a moral downside. Such is life...

Do UK fans care about morals if they win? :D

  2. After talking to some friends and doing some research... I found some more information..

    Here it is:

the first year st pat started a girls team

    84-85, coach marla kelsch 5-9,

85-86, coach john chamberlain 11-16 and reg tourn,

86-87 coach john chamberlain 13-10 reg. tourn for your info they beat a mason co team in first round of dist and mason co went on to play sat morning at girls st tour. (a very good team),

87-88, coach lex turner12-12 reg tourn,

    88-89 coach danny mckay 12-10

Is that the same John Chamberlain that now referees?

  3. Technically, all the coaching jobs are "year-to-year." HS coaches don't get the luxury of long-term contracts that provide you some security.

True. But I would say many who are established at a program and have done nothing to deserve this don't get shown the door in this manner. Is it true that the girls on the team told administration they would not play for him next year?

  4. I am sure that Centre college could beat Garrad Co. I am not sure Centre could have beaten Scott Co, Ballard, Holmes, or Warren Central this year. This is not a knock on Centre. Heck Centre is a beautiful place and Danville is one of my favorite towns. I know that the high school head jobs pay more than the D3 and NAIA2 head jobs MOST of the time. I remember asking a very successful head coach about applying for an NAIA2 job once. He said he would have to take about a 50% cut in pay going from the HS job to the NAIA2 job.

I am sure Centre could beat any high school team in the state. You obviously haven't seen them play. And I believe the article in the local paper says Coach Bolin is still going to teach at Garrard. So I doubt he will be taking much of a pay cut.
