I didn't come down on anyone when I first posted on here, I just posted what I felt and that is who really cares. No doubt UL is playing better basketball than UK right now. But what is the point in discussing something that IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. People can go on and on in here, and there is never going to be a conclusion to this because they are not going to play again..IMO it just makes no sense to even talk about this, because your going to have people saying UL would win just because they are playing better, but does that mean they would definitely win NO. You also got to take into account that UK is coming off 3 straight losses, and the next game pretty much would be a MUST win game for UK and not only that it would be against a rival. So most likely you would think UK would play one of their harder games of the season. There is just so many different stuff that can go into this argument, and in the end its not going to get anybody ANYWHERE because they are not going to play again, the game happened and its over with now. And that is why I say who really cares, because it just doesn't matter...

Actually I just wanted to compare it to the situation UK is in tomorrow night. Do they really have an advantage at Rupp?

Just so I'm clear, let's say they get Patterson but not Lucas. That would be 1 5 star, 0 4 star, 2 3 star and a 2 star. If UC lands McClain and Mitchell they would have 0 5 star, 2 4 star, and 4 3 star. I'd say clear advantage UC there...

Do these stars really matter? How many top teams have 5 star players? Can you name anyone on Southern Illinois?

He never won a Region. Losing to the eventual Regional champ only means you were there. His teams did usually play better in the tournament, but still never good enough. They could beat Paris and Harrison and that could have been attributed to the job he did. IMO The measure of a good coach is not that they were eliminated by the Regional Champ. However, if the shoe fits be happy with being a bridesmaid and never a bride.

Name another coach who could have won the region at Bourbon Co.

 

As far as Lex Cath...I know a lot of the Knight's fans are UK fans and are upset with UK's 10 loss tubby, what about Lex. Cath's own 10 loss "Tubby". He didn't win anything @ Bourbon and he probably won't win anything @ Catholic.

Did he win any districts? Lose in the region to any state champs or runners up? Play Pendleton closer than anybody else in the region? Get your facts straight before you start drilling coaches.

Coach Hicks got a T early. Heard that it was his 4th T in the last several years, all of which have come AT Catholic.

I was in attendance last season when he was hit with a T in a game at Scott Co.

The game @ Baton Rouge was by far their best game of the year.

Then they are closer to the bubble than I ever imagined.

I hate to burst anyone's BUBBLE, but this again shows that Duke is a solid ballclub, that simply lacks consistency.

I think BGP is much more accurate.

Tates Creek deserved the win as Franklin County had TC where they wanted them but did not handle the ball down the stretch.

 

My only question is why do we now pay three refs to call games?? It looks like a waste of money to me.

 

Early in the first quarter TC's #31, Sparks with the ball, connects with a flagrant elbow to the side of FC's #22, Meyer's, right eye. The three refs were surrounding the play. No whistle, no call. #22 is knocked to the floor and temporarily blacks out. TC goes down and scores. #22 finally gets up exits the game to change his blood stained jersey and treat the gash under his eye. The eye imeadiately swells shut.

 

How can three refs surround a play and not see this foul??????????

 

And yes they did call the technical on FC's coach for complaining about the no call.

 

I say we go back to old school when two refs called games. Three refs missing this call have convinced me that 3 are a waste of money.

Why were all 3 refs in the backcourt if the other 8 players besides these two were already into the frontcourt?

If he blacked out and the eye was swollen shut why did he return to the game in the 2nd quarter? Wouldn't that be a safety issue for the kid?

How much does UHA miss Josh Mack?

True, but I think what some are talking about is the change in belief from "They might make the tourney" to "They might get a 3 seed." That's a pretty big leap. You're talking about them jumping over at least 30 teams.
