I'm confused as to why Walton officials felt it was necessary for Simon Kenton students to be patted down as they entered the venue.
Both students sections are very supportive of their teams. Last year, during the district finals at Walton, SK got a little personal with some signs and posters. This year during the 1st contest at SK the Walton student section got a little personal with some signs, and I believe some individuals were escorted out. I believe the administration just wanted to avoid any other problems. Both team's student sections cheered loud and were very supportive of their teams and it was great to see.

Walton spent a lot of energy last night playing SK. Hopefully they will not be flat against Grant County tonight. Hopefully Walton will have enough in the tank to pull this one out.

I believe Owen.
Yes Owen is correct. Walton plays Gallatin and the winner plays Owen.
-
BUT, they did not play, you never really know what would happen. Good game and a great crowd! WV should do well in the All A, where is the 8th region All A this year?
I agree.

I doubt it, wasn't last time..
Maybe, but you have a good point. The one thing that I was most impressed with was Walton's defense on Chambers. I thought Lynn and Moeves both did an excellent job guarding him.
It is always fun to watch a good competitive game in front of a packed house.

Walton-Verona 48
Simon Kenton 17 8 14 14 53
Walton-Verona 10 17 14 7 48
Simon Kenton (10-4) -- Riley 7, Sampson 22, Ayers 9, Bach 4, Rabe 11.
Walton-Verona (9-4) -- Schmitt 3, Moeves 2, Hargett 11, McNeil 25, Lynn 3, Monday 4.
Just like the 1st game Walton lead late (by 5 with 2:45 left). Missed two front ends of 1 and 1 in the last two minutes. Simon capitalized and executed down the stretch. Great game to watch. McNeil was outstanding again.
-
Pretty good game for 2 1/2 quarters then Walton pulled away. Coach Wilhoite does a great job of getting his kids ready to play.

South seems to be playing as good as any team in the region right now. I'll take South by 12.
-
2nd game of the annual battle. The 1st game went down to the wire with Simon pulling out the victory in the last couple of minutes.
Who wins the 2nd matchup at Walton and why?
Either way I think it will be a close game.
-
Interesting stat about the Trimble - Walton series. The last 4 seasons the home team has lost every time. Good thing for Walton that Trimble doesn't visit this year.
-
Did Sullivan play?
Yes.

Heard the Bearcats struggled tonight. Their lack of depth is a big concern. Brandon Brockman MVP of the tournament in Florida did not play tonight. Hopefully, everyone will be at full strength on Friday when the Bearcats host Simon Kenton.
-
21 points - ouch!! Was South's defense that good or was Collins' offense that bad?
-
Final from Walton. Walton built a 30 point lead and coasted home.

Here are the 1st Lit ratings and it looks like South is ahead of the game. I do agree that there is not much stock in these ratings until about February, but it makes for some good discussion. I think Coach Simpson will win a region at South, probably sooner than later.
