I have to say the Belfry/Lawerence County game does intrigue me.

I know most in Kentucky don't know much about George Washington in West Virginia, but they are a huge school that is normally pretty darn good at the football. Obviously, I don't know how they would stack up with the other team ahead of Ashland in this ranking, but I can assure you they are good. Ashland has what it takes in a lot of positions. And, the scary part is, most of Ashland's talent is juniors. I'm no Ashland fan, in fact, many Ashland fans would tell you I'm unfairly biased against Ashland. But, I know good, and Ashland is good.

I have a weird feeling about this game. I know Corbin is the logical choice and should win big. But, I just feel like Johnson Central will match up with them better than some teams. I'd say Corbin wins big, but it wouldn't surprise me for this game to be much closer that we all think it should be.

As always BGP does a much better job of ranking teams around the state compared to any other source available. Period. With that said..... I seriously think you all are sleeping on Ashland. I would personally have them at three right behind Corbin. And, to be honest, I would not argue with anyone that had them above Corbin. Bring on the non-believers, I can take it.

Sorry I was late to the game this week, it's been a busy week in the office. I will try to make it up to everyone with updates from this game and maybe some scores for the Raceland/Hazard game.

Greenup (4-2) is coming of a butt kicking at the hands of Ashland. But, the Musketeers are looking to right the ship after having their four game win streak put to a stop by the Tomcats. Expect the Musketeers to look a little different this week and get the win. Boyd (2-3) is coming off a thrashing of their own, given to them by Johnson Central. The Lions are wanting a win badly, but expect that to not happen for a few weeks as they face Greenup and Ashland back-to-back.

I'm a big fan of Hazard, I remember some great games with them back-in-the-day. I know they will rebound and be fighting for the top of the class real soon. But, this year, I think Raceland will get the win. I think Raceland will get up early and then start working on some things they need to polish for the coming weeks. Like the Ashland, Letcher County, Pikeville, Highlands and NCC games, the Rams for making deposits in the bank they can cash in during the playoffs. The district games position you in the playoffs, but the out-of-district games decides how well you do in the playoffs.

A tale of two halves. Greenup County owned the first half and Montgomery County came out after half time and put some points on the board. But Greenup did what they had to do to win.
