  1. Mrs. doomer and I want to go to Universal Orlando, specifically the Harry Potter theme parks, next spring break. I've done a little pricing on-line, but I though I might ask if anyone has experience and recommendations on the most cost effective way to go about this trip.

    Any help is appreciated.

  2. LexHerald article indicated it was about $7,500 annually for multiple years. Referenced blatant Redbook violations. Unless he controlled(?) the Booster funds and its' reporting it seems difficult to think accepting money would be criminal on his part. I know little about this Redbook other than many posters on BGP have said its' constraints have had a tremendously negate impact on the Ky Sweet Sixteen.

You are correct...apparently the booster club paid Bretz the funds mentioned with the description, "player development", and to my knowledge Bretz has never controlled any of the funds. It was stated that this has occurred since 2003.

It is sad, as my oldest played for Coach Bretz in the late 90's when we moved here, and I played recreational soccer with him. He is a great coach as well as a great developer of character in young men. Having said that, the KHSAA rules and evidence provided seem pretty clear on this. Coach Bretz also teaches, and I am not aware that he has lost his teaching job as well. I saw him at Keeneland last spring, and it was not clear that he would coach many more years anyway, even though he is not an old guy. Otherwise, he was bound for the hall of fame.

  3. Cats were without 2 starting o linemen last night and they still didn't miss a beat offensively. Crazy to see the depth that has been built since Fick arrived. I want to say 23 different players saw significant snaps last night on defense.

With the Cats being so young in so many key positions (pick 6 was by true freshman Ahmad Gardner), they are positioned to dominate this conference for the next few years.

This conference is getting stronger across the board. UCF and their fans are a pain, and being a U. Memphis fan, we dislike them, but the success of the school did bring visibility to the league.

Congrats to UC for a big win, and we'll see you last game of the regular season.

  4. I think UK will regroup and play better...possibly 7 wins. However, I think it has to be with Bowden at quarterback or a healthy Smith. I don’t think Smith has thrown the ball the same since he fell on his wrist in the Florida game, and the QB has to be able to hit open receivers.

  5. The beauty of soccer is the players’ “touch” on the ball, control with body parts other than arms and hands, runs into space, and the well-timed pass. Then, of course when this culminates into a goal opportunity, the excitement peaks. What makes soccer seem so slow is that the fields are quite large, and the limits in substitution at the high levels. I would be a fan of more liberal substitution rules to have fresher players.

  6. Just my two cents. An isolated play doesn’t make someone a dirty player. A pattern of behavior/plays, probably a different story.

My thoughts exactly. I doubt there is a player who played a sport who can’t look back and remember a play where emotions got the better of them. However, there are dirty players in almost every sport. I couldn’t say whether Daniel is or not on one play.
