Cold weather + Speedy Backs= Tight hamstrings and a few of the backs had been battling hamstring problems all year. So I dont think the weather helped Mercer that much.

OK, he keeps the ball in his hands and hes stopped. Russell then has the ball on the 1 yards line. He fumbles and Russell gets it in the end zone for a touchback, then they have the ball on the 20. Once again, Ill take my chances with protecting the football.

Obviously we have differing opinions on the subject but do you honestly think the QB had enough time to think in his head during the play, ok, try for the first down, oh ok, im stopped, I think I should fumble the ball on purpose, maybe that will work? I dont quite think so, but you can keep telling yourself that, if it makes you feel better.

There is more good to come out of keeping the ball in your hands than there is the ball leaving your hands. And those players that you see doing it are undisciplined.

Get a clue? You have no clue. A players number one responsibilty with the ball in his hands is not to fumble the ball.

Fumble on purpose? Come on now. Any football player with half a brain would not have tried to fumble on purpose on that play.
