WATERED DOWN
-
In addition to the "usuals" of Highlands, Beechwood, NCC and CovCath, I think Holmes and Dayton are headed in the right direction. Bellevue at times seems to be on the right track as do Boone, Ryle and Campbell County then all of a sudden, things go goofy. I thought Lloyd was, but now I'm not so sure. Newport has lost major momentum. Dixie up until the beginning of this year seemed to be an elite team, but then floundered. Over the last couple of games, they've seemed to right the ship. If they can beat CovCath and Highlands back to back, then they are definitely headed in the right direction. If they lose to CovCath, with all the seniors on the Dixie team and the preseason hype given to them, the ship may be considered dead in the water. Not moving backwards, but certainly not moving forward. If they beat CovCath and then lose to Highlands in a close game, then I would consider them to have been moving in the right direction.
Holmes??? Dayton??? I am a Holmes fan but I am also realistic. I know why you think they will be so great and it's because they have a Highlands guy at the helm. And Dayton? I don't understand that at all. But they did beat Holmes in the "pillow fight of the year."

Ricardo Johnson from Holmes is easily top 5 and is only a sophomore.
-
Brandent Englemon, starter for University of Michigan.
-
There is only two guarantee for the game; both coaches will be wearing ties.
-
Is Turner still coaching down there???
-
Regarding Maile, why not just focus on his best sport and possibly push himself to a higher draft position.
He should still play bball though.IMO It would be sad to see him not play. He is tough.
-
Holmes has a heck of a transfer now playing. He is the real deal. Iwoul have Holmes and CovCath 1a and 1b
He played for Homes in 7th and 8th grade then played at Taft last year. He is only a soph. bbut he IMO will be a top 5 player in NKY.

6. Holy Cross
7. Simon Kenton
8. Ryle
9. Campbell County

This is the list that was in the Post today. Any thoughts?

I'd like to see my dawgs beat the colonels. It's been awhile. Go Dawgs
-
Its the only team you hear mentioned in Park Hills.
What about St. Agnes??? They have many good athletes, year in year out, LOL
-
Don't see how Sampson can't pull it.....unless he wants to get the ole UC rep.
How about how he was canned fromOk??? He will make it work!!!
Bad for Mackey though. UC never took a player pending charges... Just the players that get charges while playing...
-
I want someone other than them to win in 6A
-
Holmes- Brandent Englemon Michigan
Plays Safety at Mich though
-
How do you see it being a "easy" win for Holmes
James Miller will be doing whatever he wants on the field. Whenever he wants. But i think it should be a good game with Holmes graduating so much. Holmes in a nail biter.
-
Incoming Sophmores wil be nice. I heard from a very good source that the boy from Taft is moving back to Covington along with his lil bro who are IMO both top 10 players in the region
-
Those darn private schools and their repeated transfers--Can't they ever just play with their home-growns?? Out wait a minute--Holmes isn't private, then it must be OK??
He grew up in Covington and went to Bloom middle in 8th(OTR) and Taft for his Frosh year. He is a Cov. kid but is bouncing back between family members. Not for sports reasons but just the way it seems to be around here. Heck of a player by the way

CovCath or Highlands...End of conversation...Most likely Highlands this year
-
Is Don Gullett the Red's ex-pitching coach??? Same guy???
-
Hazard: Mickey Gibson

Lone Jack: Bobby Slusher
Leslie County: Tim Couch
Corbin: Frank Selvy with honorable mention to Jerry Bird
Wayland: The King
Flat Gap: Cyclone Charlie Osborne
Inez (Sheldon Clark): Billy Ray Cassidy
McKell: Don Gullett
Rowan County: Jerry Ravenscraft

Clark County: Linville Puckett
Where is Wayland??? County??? Area???

I would put Maile in my top 5. Arrez at 1 and Simpson a close second. Only saw him play once but Simpson played very little defense and did not seem like he even wanted to be on the court.

This is me scratching my head...
-
james Miller Holmes

That's funny, I seem to remember a couple years ago when Saint Xavier had THREE over 300 lb. players.....didn't pay off when it mattered in the championship. Ryle is extremely overrated, so is Scott Co. I would have
1)Trinity
2)Saint Xavier
3)Bowling Green
4)Male
5)Covington Catholic
6-10)Doesn't even matter
I believe CovCath is 5A.
Who's Number 1 to start the Year?
in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
