Jimmy Butler hurt is knee tonight I hope it is not serious.
I was at the game. He went down without contact, which usually ends up being an ACL related injury. Hoping it isn’t, I enjoy watching him play. Also enjoy how he overcame so many obstacles to get where he is.

Wow. That’s impressive. I’m sure she got her talent from her mom right (insert smilie)...
Absolutely. I definitely out kicked my coverage.

Yes, she was signed by Leigh Ross, who is now Mrs Dakich. Coach Ross resigned right before my daughter got to SU. But, Coach Ross did introduce my daughter to Dakich at SU/UL Softball game right after she signed with SU. Daughter is now a Jr, Coach Ross resigned right after 2015 season. You’re daughter plays for SU? So, do you know Dackich? -
$40,000 (less at some, more at others) is nothing? You realize athletic departments pay the school for each scholarship student, right? You can't pay some kids and not others, that is a Title IX issue. Athletic Departments, almost always, don't make near enough to cover their budget already.
Daughters softball coach told me that it costs them about $30K every time they fly. They play in the ACC, so they fly A LOT. I can assure everyone here that SU’s softball program does NOT generate that kind of money. Thank you Orange basketball and football.

If you don’t take stuff away you can’t have a punishment.
Reduction of scholarships, reduction of recruiting privileges, payback of NCAA Tourney cash.......all of those types of punishments are plenty. Does Michigan get to claim that title now? No......which makes it dumb.
-
Dumb. Vacating wins, titles, and stats are DUMB.

Coach Beard has been battling cancer for a few years. As things were starting to look pretty nasty, he finally got some encouraging news last week. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he tries to regain his strength. I met him personally when I was working at Ludlow and haven't kept in touch too much with him in the last nine years, but this good news came my way and, with the permission of his family, decided there are people that would like to hear this blessing.
He is a good guy and a class act.
Played basketball and baseball for Coach Beard as a Sr in 1989/90 at Gallatin. Glad to hear the blessing.

I read nothing of substance in this article. Lots of conjecture and unnamed sources supposedly briefed in.
My guess. Nothing happens. Great click bait, though.
Agree 100%. Never trust a journalist that relys heavily on unnamed sources. I tend to believe none if what I hear, and about half of what I see.

I watched the last 10+ minutes of this one and if anyone deserved to be thrown out of the game was Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley. How he went through that game and never even picked up a T is unreal.
Hurley was out of control.

True. I didn't think Auburn played all that well.
UK’s length had Auburn settling for LONG threes early.

No such thing as average kids at that level.Coach K wins with average kids. -
Just saying we know why a Radical Muslim does what he does. We don’t know this kids motive at this point, other than he’s just pure evil, which Radical Islam would qualify as also.So he can't believe in something that you disagree wit that would cause you to label him a terrorist? -
Ideology. When Muslims conduct acts like this (mass killings) it's terrorism. Why is this different? -
Do we sometimes over analyze the game? You can call him a tweaner and that certain players games don’t translate to the next level, but how do you really know? I love Calipari and UK basketball, but why would you draft any of the players on this years team in the 1st rd? We have had 2 players (Knox and Gilgeous Alexander) dominate a game or 2. They can’t consistently dominate. Why draft them? If they stayed in college, we would determine there games don’t translate too. The longer we evaluate the more we find wrong.
Much based on that dirty word.....Potential. Evaluating talent can be a crapshoot at times. So many variables that can’t be physically or visually measured. As I like to say, players are not robots or puppets, and the athletic landscape is littered with overlooked kids that end up proving people wrong.

I’m sorry, but I continually hear how he “loves his kids” as if that elevates him to a different class of father. Millions of dads love their children. I assume he loves his kids, but I also know he finds it acceptable to quit when the going gets tough and be misogynistic. That’s not opinion, that’s fact. If that makes the world a better place then don’t sign me up for his school of fathering.
Is he a bit of a tool? Sure he is. Would I want to deal with coaching his kids? Nope. Just stating that this country is littered with fatherless children that would benefit from having a father like him.
-
Bluiett is a great college player, but he doesn't translate well to the NBA. He's the dreaded tweener.
People forget that key word...”translate”. It all comes down to how a players game translates to the next level of play. Same reason many good high school players don’t pan out at college level.
-
I see a father that loves his kids, and is extremely passionate about helping them be successful. Is he a over the top? Sure he is, but the world would be a MUCH better place if more kids had a father like him.
-
Folks, even the most elite of college players have flaws. They are not puppets or robots. The responses in this thread are an example of being way too emotionally invested in their favorite college team.
-
This thread is full of way too many chicken littles, that have no idea what they are talking about.
-
And......push kids out of their comfort zone.
-
To prepare a kid that has talent to go on and play at the next level, the best thing a high school coach can do is hold kids ACCOUNTABLE.

Three types of lies.....:Lies, Darned Lies, and Statistics. That being said, stats do tell a story, if you know how read them correctly.
