  1. 1 Cincinnati Mt. Notre Dame 2 Toledo St. Ursula 3 Kettering Archbishop Alter 4 Cincinnati St. Ursula 5 Cincinnati Ursuline 6 Cincinnati McAuley 7 Cincinnati Mother of Mercy NDA plays McAuley at home on Saturday. Expect another great match. McAuley's coach has been seen at NDA's past two matches in Ohio. NDA plays Mother of Mercy later in their season.
  2. CSHS81, were you there to see the "beat down"? Because I wouldn't call it a "beat down". The pandas played very competitively against Ursuline. In fact they had the lead at some point in all four games. BTW, the 4 games that they played make up a match. I would say the Pandas had a "meltdown" in each game after getting the lead to let the Lions back in. The scores were 18-25, 25-19, 15-25, 20-25. I don't call that a "beatdown" against one of the top teams in the nation.
  3. Yes, the J.V. won in 2 and the Freshman lost in 3. I heard the freshman match was close though. Mercy had a freshman that started varsity, played J.V. and played Freshman. That's what you call a F-L-O-A-T-E-R.
  4. Scores were 25-19, 14-25, 25-18, 25-23 The Pandas played great as a team yesterday. I can't even name one individual that carried the team on their own. It has to take a team effort to beat a team like Louisville Mercy. It's good to see the depth of talent that the Pandas have this year. And NDA's Coach Ha is not afraid to go to the bench and use it. :thumb:
  5. Notre Dame beat Louisville Mercy today in four. Big, big win for the Pandas! :ylsuper:
  6. I just don't understand how any normal human being can take joy in another person's pain.
  7. You are so meannnn....... BTW, I don't remember complaining.
  8. I will take ZX3's side here and say it is a shame that there is no seeding in Districts. With Beechwood as a #2 seed in the District they have a chance to go somewhere in the Regional playoffs, maybe even finishing runner-up. If Ludlow beats Cov. Latin they're done. The top two teams from Districts should go to Regionals and try and make some noise. The purpose is to find the best team in the state....right?
  9. CVB....you are correct in your ruling. BIGZIG, what's the big deal here? Why do you think it's not right? You have a very talented girl in a school of very talented athletes and only so many can make the team. So you have a girl that loves the sport and wants to play. She's never stepped on a varsity court to play and from what I hear Holy Cross has placed her on the JV team and she will have to earn her stripes for Varsity. So NO, she is not going to just waltz onto a team and start playing. I will say that she will probably be one of HC most talented players on the team. Kudos to Holy Cross for being the Christians that they are and welcoming her with open arms. I'm sure this was a difficult move for her.
  10. Very cute website the Pandas have put together. Check it out http://www.ndavolleyball.org. :thumb:
  11. Best of luck to Jessica. She's a great kid and will be missed by her NDA classmates.
  12. NDA had their 2nd scrimmage on Saturday against Lakota West. Much improvement since their first scrimmage against NCC. Notre Dame took 4 out of 5 games.
  13. I'm assuming Rolf was one of the setters....who was the other in the 6-2 rotation?
  14. CVB....don't put too much stock in those pre-season rankings. I do think NDA will remain in the #1 spot, but the rest of the list could be scrambled up quite a bit. I see St. Henry, NCC, Beechwood, and Connor shaking those rankings up once the season gets started. I think there's going to be lots of surprises out there. Keep the faith in your girls.
  15. When NDA had their starters in their offense looked good. Nicole Staverman is a force on the left side. Rachel Gadberry will be tough in the middle. Caroline Miller and Becky Sebastian also played well. NDA played deep into their bench using all 12 players on the squad. NCC does not have a lot of guns in the front row. Kaela Freppon played awesome and definitely stood out on the court. Unfortunately, up against better teams she won't be able to do it all on her own. (Sometimes she does though ) Kudos to Kaela, she picks up any bad pass and puts it in hitting range.
  16. A report from a Holy Cross fan said they were expecting more from St. Henry. Level of team play definitely way down from last year's team. Only two players stood out (Niemer and another tall outside hitter).
  17. KHSAA rules does not allow scores to be kept during scrimmages. No one should have any scores to report. NDA/NCC scores are inaccurate. The scores were up in the 40 point range because they were 20 minute games. The referees stop play after every 20 minutes. There were five 20 minute games and NDA dominated the first four. Someone in the stands keeping score said NCC took the last game 42-40.
  18. Actually it's 7:30-9:30. Varsity scrimmage will be in the gym and J.V. will be in the Parish Activity Center.
  19. NDA scrimmages NCC on August 3 from 6:00-9:00 at NDA. If you come to watch be ready to sweat. No air in NDA's gym. NDA also scrimmages Lakota West H.S. on August 12 at 10:00-1:00.
  20. Emily Doerr played for Cincy Classics 16 Red. http://www.cincyclassics.com/16red.htm
  21. From what I've heard, no cuts have been made. Evaluations were given to the girls on Saturday as to where they stand half-way through the tryouts. 5more days of tryouts for the girls. Teams will be determined on Saturday.
  22. I heard towards the end of club season that she was still coming. I believe she's plays club for either Team Z or Cincy Classics. I will try and get a name for you. She is a good player.
  23. Now that the N.Ky. teams have started tryouts, anyone care to comment on how their team is starting to shape up? Any surprises? Will St. Henry still be strong enough to be ranked #2 or will NCC and Ryle move up in the rankings?
  24. What is the "R" word? Can you explain?
  25. IMO, the top incoming Frosh are Jaimie Wulfeck and Ashley Robinson. IMO, both have good chances of playing middle at the JV level. Liz Barton will improve in her high school years and become a good player, but she is a bit raw right now. Haven't heard if Liz has decided on NDA or St. Henry though. NDA has acquired a lot of talent the past three years. Looking forward to Yoon Ha working his magic on these 3 classes of girls.
