  1. Seen there was a thread about the boys and thought I would start one for the girls. So how are the teams looking after the first week?
  2. Depends which direction you drive.
  3. Gambill lives practically across street from Verity. Cullop less than 5 minutes from Verity. Hammonds lives about 10 minutes from Ashland.
  4. I am sure this thread will not last much longer so I want to get this in before it closes. Close Talker you seem to hate last years coaching staff and you are always throwing your little jabs at them I still cannot figure out why. I will say that I personally did the best that I COULD to help the girls and yes I was strict on them but after games and practices we always had a good time.(half of the year anyway but that is another story) I wish Rose Hill girls the best of luck and yes they have a good coach in Mark Watkins. Lets also remember that last years team started 1 senior, 1 soph, 2 8th graders, and a 7th grader plus we did not go out and make an easier schedule for these girls. Of these 5 girls none were starters the year before. Please feel free to find me another team that was that young in the 16th, better yet Kentucky and that won most of there games. Like I said good luck to the girls and Mark he has his hands full because he also will have a very young inexperianced team just like we had last year. That is not saying anything bad about the girls just that they are a young team. Kala Day has the best work ethic and probally the best athlete on the team in my opinion and she will have to lead this team. Good luck to Kayla and all the girls and for those girls that read this know that we always had good times no matter what these posters say.
  5. I will apologize since I was wrong but 10 minutes before I put that on I was told by a reliable source that she was not. Once again sorry I was wrong. Did you notice the word POSSIBLY in my statement. I hope she does stay she is a good kid.
  6. Didnt verity have like 30 kids tryout? I know my daughter goes there but I honestly do not know.
  7. Just found out that Phipps is possibly moving this year.
  8. Phipps did play last year but she only attended probally less than half the practices. I know some of the reasons were due to stomach problems and other reasons I have no clue. She did play in the two freshman games we had.
  9. I totally agree with this. The only problem is that most sports are played year round and if a kid likes both sports it makes it tough on them. My daughter stopped playing softball last year and I tried to talk her into playing again but she loves the game of basketball and since you can play year round that is what she wants to do.
  10. I think he is talking about Alex Young who will be going in the 7th grade. I have heard she has enrolled at verity. She started on Rose Hills 7th grade team and played lots of 8th grade for them. She also played in the 2 freshman games they played.
  11. First I agree if any of these kids were at different schools they would not have started but guess what they did not they went to Rose Hill. As far the future at Rose Hill it would have been nice if they could have stayed together and you know that as well as I do. They were a very good middle school team that was trying to play varsity. I would just like to say good luck to Rose Hill girls we wish you the best of luck it was just our time to go. What the other girls do is none of my business. I am so finished talking about this subject we have not said anything to anyone but for some reason you guys keep bringing it up. We are at Ashland and that is where we will stay, the Ashland girls, coaches and parents have been absolutely wonderful to us and have made the transition for my daughter a lot easier. I just wish you guys would let this go, You got the coaches that you wanted, and you obviously thought that last years coaches were useless and thats fine I can live with that but the girls and the parents that were there know the truth about the whole situation. Once again good luck to the girls at Rose Hill and the boys since my son is still there.
  12. Dont know what you are talking about by severe damage but you guys should not have a hard time turning the program around since there are only a few left to turn around.
  13. You just wont leave things alone. You have your coaching staff and all your girls so why not just let things die down. Are you that upset that 3 of the starters are leaving next year. Sorry but not my problem so get off of my case. When I had these girls in grade school and middle school there were never any complaints we always had a blast and went and did things as a team and had a great time. You keep saying he did this and he did that HE was not the head coach He was the coach of grade school and middle school, and he was the ASSISTANT coach on the high school team. You guys can go ahead and cut down the coaches of last year and thats fine but some of you that knew the head coach knows that she did things to lift their spirits and help them to have a good time through the season ,We were loosing games but anybody that looked at our bench could see why(we were young). You guys have fun cutting down the coaches. Good luck next season.
  14. Well everyone knows who I am at this point. First I will say that some of what you have said is correct but on the other hand you did say that Boyd County should never beat us and if we played a good game we could beat Ashland. You also have talked to parents and the players about things that should not have been discussed about the team, and yes I have witnesses also. You were a great friend of mine and my families at one time and you let winning and loosing at the high school level destroy that. I will say that I wish your daughter all the success in the world and the other girls at Rose Hill. I have never said they will not have a team I have said that its going to be tough if the girls leave and I have never tried to convince them to leave, that is their decision and you may ask them if you would like.
  15. I could be wrong but does KHSAA have anything to do with middle school.
  16. The two I know for sure will be 8th graders. The other one that I have not even talked to her or her parents I have just been told by other students will be a freshman.
  17. I have NEVER had trouble at Rose Hill until we had the newcomers. We have always had fun and won ballgames at Rose Hill. Let me add that I am referring to the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Looks to me like the infectious disease is a Rose Hill parent considering 3 girls have left.
  18. First lets start by saying I still will agree with my comment that you have in red and anyone that knows Rose Hill knows its the truth. Yes Rose Hill is going to have a team and yes they are going to be young and yes I think they will stuggle. This is just my opinion they may come out and never lose a game. I have not talked bad about the girls. Everyone knows that my problem was with one parent and that was it. I have not even hardly posted on BG in a while and I believe the reason this is coming back up is because I HAVE BEEN TOLD that two more girls have said they were going to Ashland one being my daughters best friend, and I am getting the blame for this. For those of you that know these two girls parents feel free to ask them if I asked them to come. I have not had anything to do with their decision.
  19. If you are referring to me I have never said Rose Hill would not have a team I have said they will be very young, even younger than last year. Once again I have never said anything bad about Rose Hill. I hope Rose Hill does have a team the girls deserve to get to play.
