  1. 30 turnovers by Paris hurt their cause badly as Clark benefitted with easy fast break points. Dumphord was about the only bright spot for Paris with 15 points. Clark's athleticism far outmatched that of Paris. Paris falls to 2-5 while Clark improves to 8-3 on the season. DAVE
  2. Well - the reason I started this thread has come to fruition! I was interested in a 1994 Boone County HS yearbook for sale on eBay. I wasn't sure (not coming from KY, USA even) if Alexander would be in it. You guys were very helpful and I bought the book. It arrived in the mail today. A quick flick through shows that Shaun also played Baseball (#10) and basketball (#30). He was also a 1st attendant at 1994 Prom Court with (I guess, his date) Jocelyn Sharp. Thanks to all who helped! And it only cost me ten bucks! DAVE
  3. Good to meet up with a few BGPers - Freak and Jim Schue. Maybe I met a couple of others without knowing it. Thanks. DAVE
  4. I know, WS, I was actually referring to your Oak Hill theory - I should have expressed myself more clearly. Sorry. DAVE
  5. Almost correct, Westsider. Oak Hill is the style of program that we at MMI are attempting to follow. Our schools do not accept high school graduates. For instance, if you check our roster we currently have 10 seniors. Maybe two of those will turn 19 this year but they have not graduated high school yet. Oak Hill have similar rules. Harmony's roster will have PG for a grade, standing for post-graduate. DAVE
  6. This is not as far a stretch as it may seem to some. Harmony Elite are a post-grad team loaded with D1 talent. They broke the Ohio scoring record last month with a 144-80 win over New Creations of Indiana. I think I'll go with Harmony too, although I would like to see Oak Hill win it! DAVE
  7. I'll be taking photos for the local newspaper. I'll keep an eye out for any fellow BGPers. DAVE
  8. I'll be there sometime during the tournament. DAVE
  9. Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it. I'll let you know if it paid off for me soon! DAVE
  10. They'll get a game out of Cincinnati Harmony - they recently broke the Ohio scoring record with a 144-80 win over New Creations (IN). DAVE
  11. Can anyone let me know which years Shaun Alexander attended Boone County High School and also which of these years he started for the team? Thanks. DAVE
  12. Oak Hill plays Cincinnati Harmony on December 10. Our school (MMI) will soften them up when we take on Oak Hill in the BlueChip Shootout at Lexington Catholic the night before. :sssh: DAVE
  13. How can a player come off the bench after a game has ended to participate in a shootout unless the shootout went past 11 shots per team? Last I knew, the players that ended the game were the ones that HAD to participate in the shootouts. Has this rule changed? DAVE
  14. I take it that our lil' ole ball team has no chance then? DAVE
  15. Shouldn't this thread be named "End of the Sweet 16 As We Know It"? Surely KHSAA can find at least 16 public schools to play in an end of season tournament!!! DAVE
  16. To be honest, I'm not sure. He is now Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Check out our website at http://www.mmiky.com for more info on our school. DAVE
  17. Another interesting comment! Wasn't it Lexington's PUBLIC SCHOOLS who chose to BOYCOTT Lexington Catholic. Swings and Roundabouts, Bob, Swings and Roundabouts! DAVE
  18. Actually, it is Colonel "S" now. Colonel Sifford took over about six weeks back when Colonel Carruthers moved to Florida (I believe). Thanks for the comments on our basketball program - we are all excited about it this year. We open with a scrimmage on Monday (4.00pm) at home against St Catherine's College from Bardstown, KY. Both our football and soccer programs (and hopefully, baseball) are in first years of existence. We did resurrect football after a hiatus of about 5 years. As you say, maybe we can speed up our programs' growth with this. There has to be a silver lining somewhere. I guess, as soccer coach, I can spend my time at Masterson Station and KY Horse Park recruiting new players from now on (hehe)! DAVE
  19. Interesting! Would someone like to regionalize the privates as they stand today? DAVE
  20. You'll have to get past our basketball team first! DAVE
  21. The way the question is worded I would have to choose a player from our school - little old MMI! Tom Boerwinkle went on to play at Tennessee and then into the NBA for 12 years with the Chicago Bulls. If it was the best player while IN the 10th Region, I may have to agree with Lofton. DAVE
