Pikeville has had many opportunites to score and to keep it closer, and just fumbled it away literally. That last fumble by Tim Honaker was a very deflating mistake for Pikeville, hopefully they will be able to come out and play mistake free on offense in the 2nd half to help out their hard-working defense. Last week Pikeville had a lot of delay of game penalties and the like, this week not so much. There were still penalties, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say if the game weren't at Putnam Stadium many of those calls wouldn't have been made.

Pikeville looked much better tonight than their first performance, cutting down on the turnovers, and the silly penalties. Very strong performances from both the offense and defense for Pikeville tonight as they showed themselves to be better in the speed positions as well as in the trenches. The Pikeville defense loosened late in the game with a little help from the officials with some well timed questionable calls. Tim Honaker was definitely the player of the game for Pikeville as the Senior QB threw for 1 Touchdown and then ran for 260 yards and 3 more TD's! Overall very strong performance for the Pikeville Panthers to go up to Ashland in Putnam Stadium and put up a performance like this. Pikeville moves to 2-0, Ashland drops to 0-2. Ashland scored a little while ago bringing the game a little closer but Pikeville answers with a 60 yard TD run from Tim Honaker. Personal foul against Ashland on the play after the score. Yeah, the LC style I think could really hurt Pikeville. In 1A and in Eastern KY in general you don't see a whole lot of the prolific passing offenses, especially not with the size, speed and talent of a team like Lex Cath. Belfry should be a pretty good matchup for Pikeville, both with similiar styles. Should be fun to see if Pikeville can step up and end the losing streak to the Pirates.

To say the least, yeah. Pikeville is good, but I just don't know if they are good enough to compete with one of the top teams in 4A. We shall see...

Just got a little carried away, no big deal. Having played at Ashland twice, there is a "home field advantage" shall we say. But overall it sounds like it has been a pretty cleanly called game so far. And thanks, yeah, Pikeville has a lot of talent this year, hopefully they can keep it going.

The radio broadcast I'm listening to is starting to get impatient with some of the ridiculous calls in this game. I guess thats just what you get playing @ Ashland, but I mean they called a return guy for a personal foul for putting his head down and trying to get a few extra yards, and on the 2 point conversion the freakin back judge called holding with the umpire standing right in front of him with a better view. Unbelievable... But what matters is Pikeville 28 Ashland 7

Radio guys on WPKE said Pikeville had the ball for 17 out of the 24 first half minutes. Pretty amazing...
