  1. I see that St Henry beat HHS freshman by 9. I have a good sense that hhs freshman against Sacred Heart would be a running clock against the Birds. They are good!! With that kind of AAU experience, I'm surprised more of the St Henry freshman aren't playing up. Did they choose just to keep them together or is that where they fell at tryouts.

By chance do you know who they play with in summer ball ? I'm sure I've seen them play somewhere , but I don't know that much about the school.

Not really sure yet , my thinking for now is they're keeping them playing together. Remember St Henry has 8 Seniors this year on the Varsity level. They also have a good Sophomore Class in front of them. Bad news tonight at the freshman level , Haley Cline went down with a knee injury. Keep her in your prayers that its not to serious ! She's a very strong player and a wonderful young lady! St, Henry's Freshman played Campbell County tonight and I think won by 10 or so. Great Job tonight Lady Cru !

  3. My reason for posting this wasn't to boast only to make the point that it doesn't matter if a freshman or JV team go undefeated. If they are really good players then they aren't playing on the freshman team. They are beating out other upper classman for PT on JV or Varsity depending on how strong the program is.

If you are a freshman playing varsity for Elizabethtown right now that would be saying something, but if you were playing for silver grove....well you get the picture.

Wasn't boasting either and we do have freshman playing up. Just saying we have a Deep Freshman class this year with a lot of talent. A lot of AAU experience with this class , 5 of them played together in the state and at nationals. I agree it doesn't matter on the JV and Freshman level much. But its nice to see in a smaller school the talent moving up in the next couple of years. I would love to see our Freshman play each other , most I would say already have played somewhere.

I would not be surprised to see the Freshman Class not lose a game this year.

  5. You make a good point. On the road in the 11th, On the road in the 9th, On the road in the 10th...all against teams that are a combined 8-2. Not an easy way to start for a team that does return a lot, however is still learning to play with some of those parts in complete different roles/positions.

Patience is the word. My prediction is they will be fine. Great coaching, hard working players, a competitive bunch...They are not yet playing to their potential, but they will.

Congrats to Campbell on the win.

Here is a box score from WCPO.com

Nice win CC ! :thumb: Great Job Lexi Keeton , lets keep it going girl !:ylsuper:

  6. Lady Cru took care of business. Need more consistency from the bench- especially since the teams MO is to press and push, using a lot of players. Also still need to continue improving on ball security. Jordan Miller had her best game thus far.

Big one on Tues vs Holy Cross.

I thought Jordan had a Great Game and Paige Noble I believe is her name. Ball security and working on the little things will keep this team going in the right direction. Great start to the season Lady Cru !:thumb:

  7. QB Dixie

    RB Close, give to Dixie

    WR SK, Winkler really good

    OL. Dixie, by a mile

    DL Dixie, by a mile

    LB. SK

    DB. Dixie

    ST. Dixie

    Speed. Dixie, by a mile

Better in the trenches, better team speed, and the best playmaker in Northern Ky. Dixie in a walkaway

The days at Dixie when #52 at LB daring you to run the middle ! That lasted about 10 or 12 years ! O'Toole, Benson and I can't remember before O'Toole. (NKY Raider Nation! ) :thumb: Dixie Pride !!!

  8. They lacked a strong senior class like last year. I think they will see one again next year though. Some of the kids that needed to step up as leaders didn't,but they are young. Conditioning is a tough animal they had several kids start both sides of the ball. Even the most well conditioned kids get wore down doing that the entire season. I think this years freshman class will be special as well they won the middle school championship and this years "freshman championship"

I'm sorry , but every year that freshman class is going to be Special ! ( How many years now? ) Freshman don't win at the Varsity Level and by the time they are there what happens ? Been around the program to long and football. I would pick 2 coaches on that staff that would take the program to the next level. Time will tell, I just hope its not 1 and done 3 years in a row !:ohbrother:

  9. You cannot change a culture in 2 years. Scott will be fine with the coach they have at the helm. Next year will be a big year for them. With the feeder program in place I anticipate watching good football for a long time Taylor Mill.

Coach Campbell had the culture already changing. Everything was going in the right direction and the talent they've had the past couple of years. Scott should have had play-off wins and should be a little further along. I just think its time to look at what's working and what's NOT . Talking with some in the program , they just don't want to see Scott slide backwards and be the same OLD SCOTT ! Change Can Be Good ! :thumb:

  10. When has Newport beaten Scott on a regular basis within the past 15-20 years? They may have played each other in the 80's or early 90's but they haven't played since until 2007. Since 2007, Scott is 5-1 against Newport outscoring them 183-48 in those games.

I think a fair question to ask is if these Scott teams under Woolley have gotten better by the end of each respective season. I honestly can't say they have.

I think Scott is riding on what Dave Campbell started and the Talent the Little Eagles is providing now. They have some very good coaches in the program now , I'm just not sure the right one is in charge. The program is going in the right direction from the hard work of some , but the cup cake scheduled kills you at the end of the year! Dixie , SK and NCC is a good start!

  11. For sure, forced 3 fumbles last game. Maybe some will bounce our way in round 2. Gonna be cold the hits are gonna hurt for all.

Just have Ryle's cheerleaders hold up a District Champs Banner in front of Dixie . Never seen a Dixie Team hit or play so hard as that night! Do believe it was Dixie's first District Title that Night!:thumb: Dixie by 10
