Good Luck Lady Eagles ! Keep your focus and keep playing hard !:thumb:

Newport - St Henry at 6:00 and then NCC - Holy Cross at 7:30. Are they going to broadcast either game or TV time ?
-
The Jags looked good early. Hailey Anderson scored 6 quick points and I believe Cooper led 16 to 7 at one point. Good to see Lexi Held back at 100% and Aisyah Mitchell plays her heart out. Cooper is taking baby steps to be able to compete with teams like the Birds. First half they looked good, but there lack of depth showed in the second half. Hopefully with 5 freshmen and 2 sophmores seeing alot of playing time it will pay off in the future. Good luck to the Birds the rest of the season.
Good to see Lexi Held back , one of the Top Younger Players in the Area!:thumb:

Final from Bedford. This was a nail biter!
Was that the finals from the 8th or do they still have more games ?

Got a time ?

Their 5 toughest remaining games in chronological order:
NDA 1/17

St. Henry over Scott last night 51 to 36 and improves to 9-1 on the season. Freshman Regional at Notre Dame up next . Does anyone know schedules or brackets yet ?
-
Final from Scott
Wow , Great Job Young Eagles and Coach Klette ! Keep Playing Hard ! :thumb:
-
Anyone got any updates yet ?
-
The post is referring to the Villa game in which St Henry pressed the entire game.
Yes I know , I was there watching.
-
It will all take care of it self when Holy Cross beats them by 40.
So your saying Holy Cross has a easy bracket and put them in the finals ? I know St. Henry needs to go one game at a time.
-
So it's still okay to press hard when they were up by 20-30? It's okay for the crowd in the stands go crazy and stand up when they scored when they're up by 35+? So a man to man full court isn't a press? They were hard core pressing the entire game.
Not really sure what game you where watching that night , but St Henry wasn't pressing the entire game. I would also say that they played almost 15 girls or better going in and out at different times of the game. They have a lot of girls competing for playing time and he coaches all of them the same way. Didn't see anyone going crazy in the stands , but I did hear that a couple of the girls got their 1st Varsity Pts in that game !

I don't know about shifting of power. I do know that over the last 4-5 years, there has been a ton of good players entering the local High schools in NKY due to AAU teams that developed awhile back. It's reached the high school a couple years ago and continues to filter in. I know there was AAU before that, but in the time period, more AAU opportunities have opened up, providing more opportunities for girls. So my feeling is...where there used to be one or two kids on your high school team playing serious aau, now you can find teams full of aau kids on the rosters. And some of those teams they are playing on were very successful. I just think some areas of the state are starting to catch up a little. It's a good thing.
I got to agree with this , most of the High School Teams in NKY have girls that grew up playing AAU and travel a lot. Got a few State Champs and National Ranked Teams in AAU out of NKY the past couple of years.

It's funny you say that...A St Henry fan told me that Holmes is 20 points better than HC. Do you agree?
I wouldn't say 20pts , but right now Holmes is the better team. But HC did have injuries going on and still do. Things may change by the end of the season. I would like to catch a Highlands and SK game soon , do they play at all this year?

Another Great Job ! Thank You

Hate that this Holmes team is as good as it is and has worked hard to be successful on and off the court and every week this coaching staff faces a constant barrage of distain!!! Comments after every game are very seldom about the play on the court and are aimed at the antics of a passionate coaching staff! Maybe that's how Perkins and staff like it!! Keep your eyes on the coaching staff and your going to miss a good game when we play you!
They have a Great Team , I loved to watch them play. But if your up by 30 pts , sometimes you just don't need to show all that passion for your team.

Holmes went on an 18 point run in the first quarter. St. Henry mixed in just about every combination they could and really didn't have an answer. They made it interesting in the 3rd quarter by cutting what was a 33 point lead to inside 20, but the deficit was just too great. Jynea Harris had 26 points for Holmes and Jordan Miller took the Lady Cru on her back in the second half, ending with 18. Holmes shot 47 free throws, connecting on 32.
Jordan Miller is one of the Best Guards in area and doesn't get the credit she deserves. The girl can play ! Holmes is the Best Team I've seen so far this year in the state ! Very deep and loaded with talent !
