  1. I need a Mod, I was just called a retard!

I edited for that, my bad. I had Blackburn and I changed it. I just drive there, give me a break!!

I guess I need to start going around mumbling, "Frank and beans!"

Maybe you should take the bus. I think that if you were to use Blackburn in the directions then your right probably wouldn't be on 29th, wouldn't it be Skyline?

  2. Ashland has 5-6 players who can play(Scaggs,Delaney,Bowling,Bonner,Johnson,Swift). I anticipate their issue will be the development of the ninth graders and first year players ( Withrow, Whetsel, Hunter,Hornbuckle) in order for them to be able to provide some quality depth.

Of those 6 the only players with any real experience are Bonner and Skaggs, Johnson played minutes last year and was a positive at times. The other three weren't much of a factor. I do agree that the development of the others you named will be key. I do think that Ashland will be much better in March than in December for this reason.

  3. I agree he will have to carry the team. His supporting cast will have to play better than expected for them to compete every night. They do have a decent collection of players when you combine the 9 and 10 grade. They will have to develop these kids to be a region favorite in the upcoming years.

  4. I belong to the same church as the younger. He is a quality person and a man of faith. Prayers are much needed for he and his wife. I beleive that we serve a great God. A God that can part the Red Sea and that can protect young men such as Daniel, the three Hebrew boys, and Joseph. I personally asking God to reveal himself in a miraculous way in this situation. I want all to know that also I accept what God chooses. Mark Boso makes this world a better place, but if God requires his presence in glory who am I to question. I am thankful he is prepared to meet God. Anyone who reads this and isn't prepared to meet God, please consider the risk you are taking. Someday, and not at your discretion, eternity will require your soul. I want everyone to hear God say "Enter in thou good and faithful servant."

  5. From what I hear the numbers are lean and that the feeder system needs an overhaul. To get the program back to the desired consistency I guess this is where it should start. I think that this year they will be in the upper middle of the pack in the 16th. The 16th is really top heavy from what I understand with the weight coming from the 62nd district. After this year the 16th should be more balanced and a prime opportunity to begin a run of dominance by someone and Ashland can certainly be in that mix.

  6. The record for these two programs going head to head since 2000 is:

    2000 – Did not play

    2001 – Ashland 38 / JC 14 (H)

    2002 – Ashland 43 (H) / JC 0

    2003 – Did not play

    2004 – Did not play

2005 – Ashland 13 (H) / JC 10 – Ashland will travel to Paintsville for the next three games.

    2006 – Ashland 7 / JC 35 (H)

    2006 P – Ashland 21 / JC 28 (H)

    2007 – Ashland 33 / JC 67 (H)

    2008 – Senior Night – Putnam Stadium

Looks like outside of 02 the home team has won each game.

  7. Nothing like true fans. Every week think the team will win. I am a true fan too, but I get the feeling that this Ky team just isn't that good and that it may be a couple of years before we are really competetive again. I hope that I am wrong. I was embarrassed last week and I hope the players feel the same. With that being said at least half of me if not 60 % thinks this will be another disappointing loss.

  8. Would you not do that when they went to college?

I guess I would consider college a little different. They are adults and making decisions for life. Course of study becomes a factor as do price tags. In grade school and high school the parents are in control totally and I think that their visions are often clouded.

  9. I realize this is more of an emotional argument than a rational dispute, but IMO there's a huge difference between the freedom of families relocating for personal reasons and school's actively recruiting.

I support the KHSAA enforcing all of their Bylaws that apply to legitimate recruiting. That's their job, and it's a big one.

I do believe that certain sections of Bylaw 6 need to be rewritten to permit greater freedom and clarity for families who decide to relocate for whatever reasons they deem most beneficial to their family. This would also make the commissioner's duties more clear cut and objective, rather than interpretive and subjective. It's a win-win all around.

Our schools exist to serve the educational and developmental needs of our children, not the other way around.

I don't think that a school always contacts a player. I think that a lot of times the parents contact the school. I guess if I have two kids and one is talented in one area and another is talented in another area, I as the parent should consider sending them to different school systems.
